If LSU were to play USC would you see it as a Southern Pride game, or just a regular game?

I would see it as a "who is really the class program of college football" type of game.
And I think LSU would win the game handily

The only time LSU v USC would have been relevant is in January of 2004. WTF Southern Pride means, I have no clue.

It would be a bowl game because there is no way there is a series in the near future

I'd see it as a great intersectional matchup. Something we don't get to see much of anymore, which would make it a special game.
I love Baton Rouge, LSU and Louisiana, but the Southern Pride stuff don't strike much of a chord with me.
Good college football does though.

it cant happen,we're a CBS team. ABC wont allow it. We would win and ESPN would have nothing to talk about.

Are you stationed at Ft. Belvoir? Beautiful post. I did my AIT there in 87.
I'm in Afghanistan right now, but I travel to DC several times a year for work. I have conferences at National Guard Bureau and occasionally at the Pentagon. I usually stay at the DoubleTree in Crystal City. Maybe we can get together the next time I'm up.
Shoot me an e-mail: brian.d.hutchinson@us.army.mil

Southern Pride? I don't know about that, but I do know...
Any game we will play against USC(cal) will not have any affect on seasons we should have played USC(cal). Meaning, that even if we play them now, the 2003 teams and the 2007 teams were in fact different teams...
:omg:
If we beat them in 2012, it doesn't do shite for 2003. Even though, it is nice to beat another elite/ top tier program. IE: blowing out Miami and V Tech.
PS: when you start a thread about a USC team, please specify which USC team. Because tards will have a difficult time deciding which one the original poster meant (no matter how obviousm, after all they are tards). Plus if it is the original poster's intent to cause such confusion, afermentioned poster will sufer an untimely demise.

Just a "regular" game between top ranked teams ... just like Oiho State ...
A regular "back-bayou azz whippin" for USC

Following the bitterness tween the fan bases after the '03 debacle, the two programs have had a lot of parallels that keep us in contention with them- such as top recruiting classes, in the hunt for the NC game, etc.
I don't think I've gotten over the '79 game yet and I was 11 years old when that was played. They have payback coming their way from 30 years ago as far as I'm concerned.

I'd be pulling for LSU and really wanting them to win. But I think the "PAC 10 is weak" stuff I hear a lot around Baton Rouge is kind of questionable since the PAC 10 has a winning record against the SEC in head to head during the BCS era (I'm not going to look it up again but I have in the past and it's the case...there's nothing at all in the head to head series to suggest some tremendous superiority on the part of the SEC over the PAC 10).
You have stuff like USC beating Arkansas 50-14 on the road in 2006, when Arkansas went on to win the SEC West by going 7-1 during regular season conference play with the one loss being by 5 to LSU. Then the Hogs lost by 10 in the SEC title game to Florida.
And stuff like Cal, which finished tied for 7th in Pac 10 play at 3-6, beating eventual SEC East champ Tennessee by 14 to start the 2007 season.
Seriously, given the fact that the SEC has had its head handed to it many times during the BCS era by the Pac 10, I do think the "Pac 10 is weak" stuff is pretty lame.
USC has lost only one non conference game during the past 5 seasons; and that was the 3 point loss to Texas in the 2005 BCS title game. The only thing that's kept them out of BCS title games is other PAC 10 teams. The SEC teams they've played sure haven't done it.
