At the earliest, I could see right before the mid-term elections to claim a "victory".

So October-ish.

That seems like a terrible plan. That wouldn't win over independents. You need to do it earlier than that. Hell, a lot may have mailed in ballots/early voted by then.

Biden is a dick, and that’s why I don’t see him lifting it, even one March 18. He said he didn’t agree with states like NY and CA removing their mandates so soon. He’s a power hungry douche who I believe truly loves making the common American miserable.

Make no mistake about it - aside from a small few the entire airline industry is ready for it to end. It’s not an airline policy. It’s a TSA/federal mandate that sucks beyond belief.

The airline CEOs went before congress and told them it was stupid and useless given the cabin airflow and filtration.

Of course, when presented with clear science, Congress rejected it.
Gotta keep that narrative going.

At least Rand is ... what do they call it... "speaking truth to power".
I believe he's introducing legislation to repeal the airplane mandate.
But, I don't see why they don't pull all the mandates.

Won't pass.

It will take a R congress to get that past, and Biden would veto.

Again, if there are no crazy spikes, he will end it about a month before the midterms for a "win".

Entire countries don't need to be told to wear a mask when they're sick because it's simply the right thing to do. Perhaps be considerate when you're sick and Big Brother won't need to step in and force you to perform acts of common courtesy?

Flew nonstop to Maui from DFW with a mask. Just find one that's not pressed against your nose and mouth. I was concerned it was going to be a PITA but it wasn't a big deal at all. The worst part of it was the straps rubbing behind my ears.

I used the 3M Daily Face Mask that has folds of fabric with some play at the top and bottom of the mask.

Airline CEOs will say whatever they think will fill seats and increase stock prices.

All commercial aircraft circulate air through the cabin pretty quickly. Not all commercial air craft are fitting with sufficient filtration. No commercial aircraft can stop the spread if I'm sitting behind you and sneeze without covering my mouth well. They are definitely more sanitary and safer than say a movie theater, a restaurant or your office. That's doesn't make them sanitary or safe though.

Who gives a shite at this point? If you don't want to get sick, don't fly. Having to wear masks except while "actively eating or drinking" is the dumbest shite ever.

I got the worst migraine of my life on a long flight last August that was without a doubt caused by having to wear a mask on a plane for so long.

Get a loose fitting, cloth mask.

It’ll be comfortable.

And worthless, though it’ll satisfy the rule.

I fly with one that doesn’t do shite but satisfy the dumbass rule.

Screw the mask and the rule. Both are worthless.

Well, it sounds like the administration will extend the national emergency past March 1.

It would seem difficult to have the mask mandate to end before the national emergency is discontinued. I'll have to see what date they pick for this extension. If past March 18 (mask mandate end date), probably a foregone conclusion the mask mandate will extend.

Ya, maybe I'll be wrong, but I just don't see the message "National emergency isn't over, but y'all can take your masks off on public transit" coming from these guys.

Next hope is the extension is small like a month instead of 3/4.

I still think he uses State of the Union to announce the end. Gotta at least attempt to save his parties arse politically.

There has NEVER been a single reported outbreak from a flight. This along with studies showing aircraft are most filtered locations to be should have ended this bullshite a year ago.

The required negative test just to come home is what fricks me off.
