Rivals' Mike Farrell says Gilbert may come back to LSU.

In his "Awards and Notable Freshman" column, he says "Tight End Arik Gilbert was also amazing and now there are rumors he might want to come back to LSU after jumping into the transfer portal."
To be fair, he somehow misses Kayshon Boutte in his rundown of outstanding freshmen, so he may easily be wrong here too. But worth mentioning, as he certainly has at least some sources.

Please end the soap opera and make a decision, Arik.

I'd welcome him back if he's willing to work on the things that caused this first meltdown a bit of his. He's obviously a big time talent.
That being said, dear god, please let this nonsense stop and make a damn decision.

I totally agree that Farrell is a moron, but surely he's basing that statement on something. I'm personally counting Gilbert as gone until we hear definitively otherwise, but this is still newsworthy imo.

LSU — Elias Ricks was my top true freshman in the country and B.J. Ojulari is a beast off the edge. Tight end Arik Gilbert was also amazing and now there are rumors he might want to come back to LSU after jumping into the transfer portal. Kayshon Boutte also had an amazing finish to the season.

This will be Peetz and Mangus’s first big time recruiting job....

Idc either way
I think he’s a distraction honestly but he’ll give us production so whatever

He's one those guys who will quit again, or opt out on the 22 season. Are you sure you want that?

HAHA he went back and added this to the column. It wasn't there before.

The last few months have been a circus with this kid. He’s probably worth it if LSU can get him straightened out snd back in the fold, but there are red flags with him either way.
If we weren’t making a change at OC, I would say it’s probably not worth the possible headaches. However, if Peetz is like his mentor and is gearing the offense toward setting up mismatches, then Gilbert would instantly become a bigger weapon. Even though we targeted Gilbert often, E didn’t get super creative in how he used him in the passing game.
If we can get a couple of the other WRs to step up as a dependable number 2 and 3 with Boutte, then Gilbert would be a creative OC’s wet dream. You could just pick your matchups with Safeties and LBs out there.

maybe they will let him run a pass pattern longer than 3 yards short of the first down line.
Sick the way he was used last year.

If he is smart, he would. He's getting the offense he originally signed up for with the new hires...
