DJ sort of?
He plays all over the infield, don’t think he played 3rd at LSU? Could be wrong tho

If he did, it wasn't very much. Primarily SS at first and then 2B.

I remember the first time I saw him at catcher and thought damn there is another Nola in the Majors...thinking it couldn't have been Austin

I'm sure you soured on Bregman after college but Nola was not indisputably better defensively than Breg. Breg was in the SC Top 10 more than once in a season and was great at a routine level as well
I didn't sour on Bregman at all. I love Bregman. Bregman was just not as good defensively at LSU as Austin Nola. Both made numerous highlight plays (as did Kramer Robertson)-- Nola just made less errors.
Nola made 34 errors in 4 seasons (fielding percentages of .960, .967, .950, and .980). Bregman made 36 errors in 3 seasons (fielding percentages of .939, .966, .975).
Bregman was great. Obviously he was the best overall shortstop we've ever had. He was a 9/10 defender. Nola was a 10/10. (Kramer was probably an 8/10.) Any college team would take any of the three to play shortstop for every game of every season and be extremely happy. But if you don't realize that Nola was a better college defender then you didn't watch enough of the games or your judgement is clouded because of Bregman's hitting ability, draft pick, or MLB ability.

Yeah he played SS.
Remember when fans were outraged when Paul inserted him into the lineup.
Questioned it dailey.

Im just curious has there ever been a P-C brother combo in mlb

One of my favorite success stories. Made a drastic position change in the minors. Bounced around the minors for longer than most would’ve tolerated. Got his shot on a terrible team who was rebuilding and became a very solid everyday player.

If I remember right it’s happened once where they were on the same team and they actually played together one game.
Don’t remember who it was or for what team. I just remember reading something about it when Austin got the call up

Pitcher Larry Sherry’s brother Norm Sherry caught for him when Larry was on the mound for three seasons in the early 1960s. They played for the LA Dodgers.
The most famous three teammate brothers on the same Major League team were the Alou brothers, Felipe, Jesus and Matty Alou: San Francisco Giants (1963).

Both Austin and Aaron have a realistic chance of making the All-Star team. That would be something to watch if they team up to be the battery in that game.

Yes, a great defensive shortstop while at LSU. He was a solid utility player when he made it to the show before settling in at catcher.
He actually was never a utility infielder in MLB. He got called up after the switch to catcher. Just the fact that he had to learn a new position after all the years as a middle infielder, was already enough. But catcher? And he's actually a good catcher. All of that is incredible, in and of itself.
But then he starts hitting like he's never hit in his life, including hitting for power, all after spending about 8 years in the minors.
I can't think of a better sports story in recent memory.

He played catcher, 1st, 2nd, and LF while with Seattle. Could have probably played SS or 3rd if they needed. Sounds like a utility guy to me.

If he played anything other than catcher at Seattle, it was late inning shuffling to get other guys playing time. He has been a primary catcher, not a utility infielder. Evan Gattis played in the outfield with the Braves a little when he came up. Would you describe him as a utility player, too?

Great family and some really good dudes. We hung a lot of sheet rock with their dad back in the day

I assume somebody like that was also a very good pitcher in high school and could also ball, or do they specialize in high school now?
