Ordered a Christmas present early November from a local Houston business that still hasn’t come in. I was ok with it not making it in time for Christmas because my wife knew what she was getting so she didn’t care it wasn’t in for Christmas Day because I got her other stuff too. After the first of the year I emailed asking about the time frame for my item. I received an auto reply that they were super busy and could take 5+ days to respond. Is it just me or this crazy? I have never had a client email sit in my inbox for 5+ days

Acceptable?

No, not if that business wants to grow.

Uh, no. I manage our customer support, and we reply within an hour 7 days a week.

It’s very acceptable during Covid. Everything is now acceptable during COVID

Yes and I will call them, I just thought the auto reply was crazy.

vs the alternative of zero response, the expectation setting is at least honest.

Saying “We may be a while, sorry” is one thing.

If they are saying 5-7 business days, they better be a national or international business getting fricking slammed with contacts.

That is what the response says and no they are a small Houston business.

If you have enough business that it takes 5-7 days to get back to someone, you can pay a new full time receptionist to handle these calls.

Go camp out there.

Wear Rice gear and make sure your hair looks great.

Fake being a recent stroke victim too for added sympathy.

Talk to people there ad infinitim about your experience.

You’re from th Ad Castle, you should know that word of mouth advertising is very effective-

I would suggest that contact your credit card company and advise them that you have not received the item and that you have attempted to contact the vendor to no avail. My experience has been that the credit card company will credit your account.

Has the charge come through on your credit card bill? If so, try to cancel it before it's too late.
