Interesting. I googled the origin of grape soda and I see something about some white guy in the 20s who started making it in Arkansas and another type called NuGrape out of Atlanta in 1906 and bottled in the 1921, which was sold (licensing rights or something) to a bottling plant in Olla, La where they started making it.

Grape flavoring is pretty polarizing, I think. You either love it or hate it.

Yeh I am sure there are countless others. I would imagine that many soda's were invented and sold at one location for a long time until distribution and bottling really took off. I love grape soda but it is no where close to Barq's Red Cream Soda.
