Almost would prefer the models saying no snow for southern La at this point. We all know how it goes when it’s supposed to snow- never happens

What did overnight model runs show?
Posted on 1/8/21 at 7:07 am to Allthatfades
Same thing they've been showing. North LA gets snow, south LA gets rain.
Posted on 1/8/21 at 7:10 am to Duke
Sorry but northern LA wont be getting snow either.

Isn't doing anything in pigeon forge right now. There was snow on the car when we came down from the cabin.

At least it's not the redneck riviera.

Reliable models are indicating 6 to 12 inches of snow for areas south of I-20 in Texas. GFS is terrible with surface temperatures within an Arctic air mass so I give it little weight in these type scenarios.

Let me check with your mother and get back to you on that. She may still want to try and squeeze in a few holes.

What do you do cuz the GFS is trash for arctic air masses.

Do not exist for Southern snow predictions

The Euro is best at the Synoptics. The NAM does better pushing the cold in and getting the lowest level temps more realistic. NAM will save you a forecast bust with really shallow cold air masses.
Gotta find what's useful for all of em and see what you can put together prediction wise.
