Yup. I routinely drive I-10 from Nola to Slidell and I'm always on edge some driving through the East...mostly because you always have multiple piece of shite hoopties driving way too fast and cutting off cars, jumping one or two lanes of traffic to exit the interstate at the last possible millisecond.
This doesn't even account for the culcha that sees shootings happen on the interstate.
I always wonder what people driving into Nola for the first time from Slidell think when driving through the East...oh yeah, this is what an actual shithole looks like.
The East was all a bluster a few years ago about wanting to breakaway from Nola proper and become its own city... could not happen quickly enough IMO. Nola has enough problems without having to deal with that shite.

This would be the best thing that could happen to the city. Mitch was such a dumbass for blocking that. Could have saved the city a fortune in resources.

Thugs pulled up next to my DIL and friends ( no pics) and pointed guns at them in same area last year. Just to harass and frighten them.
I had a guy that was driving an Escalade pull a gun on me in the same area.Chased me till I hit my brakes at an exit and he overshot me at the exit. Pretty sure he was ready to shoot and that it was Telly Hankton’s brother. Although I had shot him the bird for cutting me off.
