If Sean thinks he’s the guy, I’ll trust his opinion over some on this board. He deserves the benefit of the doubt.

The last QB Sean was interested in was Mahomes so if he likes him in the first I’ll trust him.

Id rather trask, ive seen him do it while injured with no receivers, no running game, and no defense.

Those three first half interceptions he threw this week were very impressive.

He looked like absolute shite against LSU's sorry arse defense, too.

Are you stupid or something?

Agree with this 100%.

With the best Lineman, RB's and WR's in the country, how in the world can you evaluate an Ohio St or Alabama QB??
Average QB play looks spectacular because you put up stupid numbers - Tua, Hurts, McCarron, and now the latest, Mac Jones. This guy is another McCarron. Whoever takes him will look foolish in the end.

I don't like Trask either. I would not take either of them in the 1st or 2nd Round. I don't care where they are evaluated by the "experts".
Same experts had the following with 1st round QB grades:
Akili Smith
Cade McNown
Tim Couch
Dwayne Haskins
Sam Darnold
Matt Barkley
Matt Leinart
Johnny Manziel
Joey Harrington
Marc Sanchez
Jake Locker
Marcus Mariota
Vince Young
Gino Smith
Mitch Trubisky
RGIII
Jamis Winston

Very much an inexact science. Impossible to evaluate Bama and Ohio St. QB's. Stop with the Mac Jones hype. He will be hot garbage in the NFL.

Trask seems like he'd be best suited as a back up qb. I don't really mean that as a knock. He seems to be a hard worker, but I don't think he has the chops to be a big time starter. He does seem like a guy that could make it in the league as a backup though.

I don't think I'd draft Mac 1st round, but he's got potential to be pretty good.

But if it’s all a crapshoot at the end of the day, how can you say that? I’m not saying Mac will be good, but I believe there is at least a chance he can be. Plenty of projections of all positions are wrong both ways. There are things you can’t measure in a guy. Outside influences, how they handle pressure, what’s in their chest, etc... I hate when ppl rattle off who the “experts” got wrong when they also get plenty guys right, in all rounds for whatever reasons. All that said, I don’t want the Saints to draft him in the 1st, but wouldn’t be upset.

All we need to do is have an offensive line that can give Mac 7 seconds on every drop back, like Bama does. The kid has shown how easy it is to pass when you have that much time. This is why all Bama QBs fail in the NFL. That’s not realistic and they are system QBs who haven’t been rushed at all.

Average QB play looks spectacular because you put up stupid numbers -

- LSU won the Moore Award for the best offensive line in 2019.
- Clyde Edwards-Helaire was a first round pick and the top RB taken in the 2020 NFL Draft.
- Justin Jefferson was the 23rd overall pick in the 2020 draft. Ja'Marr Chase and Terrace Marshall are projected to go in the first round of the 2021 draft.

So, Joe Burrow isn't a good QB in your opinion?

Jones is playing behind an elite line that doesn’t allow anyone close enough to even sneeze on him. Stick any SEC QB behind that line with those receivers and I think you get similar results. Buyer beware for sure on him.

You can’t deny playing behind a great OL and other cast helps. But these kind of statements intend to give him zero credit whatsoever which isn’t fair.

But the last QB he actually drafted was Ryan Griffin.

Ryan Griffin was undrafted

We drafted Tommy stevens last year though and Garrett Grayson at pick 75 in 2015

I don’t see that kid doing what he does now in the nfl. Not saying he’s terrible he’s good but not an NFL franchise QB. He’s exactly like McElroy, Mcaaron and Crocker. Bama has always had a ridiculously good offensive line, under Saban, which helps these guys succeed. And also great receivers.

Alabama QB Mac Jones has orchestrated what is arguably the best passing attack in college football history

quote:

The Bama quarterback has thrown an uncatchable ball on just 18.7% of his 10-plus-yard passes, which is over four percentage points better than any other Power 5 quarterback since we began charting QB accuracy and ball location back in 2018.

Further cementing his place at the top is Jones' ability to limit negative plays. One of the most important and stable statistical measures to quarterback play is negatively graded throw rate, and there hasn’t been a better quarterback in that metric this season than the Crimson Tide passer. Not only does he lead all quarterbacks in negatively graded play rate this year, but he also leads every single QB of the PFF College era.

And all of this success isn’t entirely because he has open throw after open throw. He's actually thrown into a tight window on 15.2% of his passes this season, a rate that is about four percentage points higher than Tagovailoa's last season and is nearly double that of Justin Fields (8.3%) this year. Oh, and Jones has also been the most accurate passer on tight-window throws this season — by a large margin.

Hmm.

It's not my opinion.

It's based on data. Factual data.

But, hey, you're the expert.

Ahh yes because a white pocket passing QB right? None of them has succeeded anywhere near as Mac is. You clearly didn’t watch any of them really play. Especially not Mac.
