Was in the bathroom at halftime when GaTech fan said "LSU is the worst team we've played all year." Tiger fan promptly replied "The game ain't over yet fata--" #RohanToReed

As I recall, they replaced the LT which was also huge.

That night was epic!! Charles Barkley wrapped his hand on my friend's GF's arse at a bar in Buckhead after the game. I only saw the large black hand fondle her arse and offered a swift arse-kicking to the owner of said hand. Before I knew it, Chuck's handlers had me pinned up advising me to calm down.

We spent the next two hours taking shots with Chuck at his expense and talking shite about Auburn, Jordan, Larry Bird, etc. I told Chuck we appreciated his generosity to us and hoped he kept his hands to himself when we all departed.

Tommy Banks capped a nice career with 2 receiving TDs of all things. When’s the last time we had a FB with 2 total TDs in an entire season, much less 2 receiving ones in 1 game.

That video reminds me of so many trips with my dad from 1998-2007 or so chasing LSU Football, Baseball, and Basketball all over the country. We never lived in the state, but we always loaded up and went to bowl games, NCAA Tournaments, and Omaha. Good times back then when winning the peach bowl was good enough for a Gatorade bath and the fans to go nuts. What a ride for 20 years.

Did Saban get a Gatorade bath? I don’t remember. If he did, I bet he fricking hated it with a passion.

You mean, until Winey decided he could give it a go after all. TD Tommy Banks with a couple of scores and a few outstanding connections between Davey and Reed. On the toe touch catch in the back of the endzone, my friends and I went nuts while watching the game at a buddies house that his parents were in the process of selling. I proceeded to jump up and through his den wall while a styrofoam ice chest was busted and leaked out in the entire room. Near the top of the list of memorable moments involving our beloved Bayou Bengals, never to be forgotten.

That game was a preview of what we'd see in 2001-Davey to Reed. The Alabama game was sweet. They couldn't cover Reed the whole game!

Jimbo put in Rohan and made him take 3 step drops to get it out quick and get us going. Great game in purple jerseys. We don’t see those anymore in bowls or title games. GEORGE godsey. We called him YAHTZEE the whole night.

We wouldn’t have seen them that night either if we weren’t playing Georgia Tech.

Winey's story in that game is legendary. For years the story has circulated that one of Winey's LSU professors said that Winey told him earlier that game week that he wasn't going to play if Booty was named the starting QB because he and a whole lot of players hated Booty and thought Rohan should be the starter. Rohan had been named the team's captain even though he was a backup QB. When Saban announced Booty as the starter for the bowl game, Winey told Saban he wasn't going to play. Saban told Winey that he couldn't use that as a reason for not playing. So right before the game they announced that he had an injured hand with Winey showing up in street clothes and bandaged on the sideline.

LSU- especially Booty- played so poorly in the first half, and a lot of it was due to Winey not playing since the DE he was supposed to block was getting a bunch of sacks. At halftime Saban said Rohan would start the second half, and Winey told Saban he was going to play. When he joined the huddle for the first series, I remember the announcers saying that it was amazing that Winey would suit up at halftime and play with his hand bandaged like that. Winey shut down the DE for Georgia Tech the entire second half.

My first bowl game as a 6 year old. Spent the whole week in Atlanta. This was when bowl games use to be a 3 or 4 day event.
