Both have coached in the SEC and both guys are also young. Brian will bring Mullens scheme which will work well with Max. He is also a former Qb and learned how to develop QBs from Mullen which is what we need. QBs include Alex Smith, DAK, Trask

Mullen was also Tebow's coach and probably should get some credit for Cam Newton as well.

Johnson looks solid, but wonder why a UFootwear OC would leave to be LSU OC?

Also, is their offense more about Merlins than him?

Brian wasn’t involved with those two I just mentioned the ones he was involved with...but Mullen is a great play caller and QB developer

One guy brings Lebuka's name up now he will be mentioned with all the other TD favorites Mason, Freeman, blah, blah. I just wish they would go ahead and sign someone. The rant will have named every assistant coach in the world before O hires someone

If Brian Johnson was/is attainable then he should be at the top of the list and getting him away from Florida would be a huge plus as well.

Brian Johnson is going to be a G5 head coach next year or in 2022. I think he's being very selective with the jobs he interviews for after getting burned so badly at Houston.

Orgeron knows he can’t screw these hires up. Without a legit offense or defense in the SEC LSU gets killed. Too much talented players and coaching on both sides

I’m just happy they seem to be going through a vetting process. Tired of O just calling a buddy and making them a multimillionaire. This is a very important hire so treat it like one. If they don’t see the opportunity then let them stay where they are at. I guarantee you there’s a bright young coach clamoring at the opportunity!

That's exactly why you interview

You don't just ask one guy and when he turns you down you turn to Woodward and have him suggest pelini.

He should be fired for giving pelini 2.3 mil
