Moscona just said he would be "very surprised" if Derek Mason/Bo Davis do not happen

I don't want Mason really, but I really want Bo Davis.

Maybe this could work.

Does Derek Mason prefer a 4-3? Just curious, can't remember.

Well TD insiders called Davis before scone.

Perhaps mason is ok but I’m not a huge fan of retreads at this point

A young black experienced guy like Mason is an excellent hire. He is extremely well liked here, very sharp, and just can’t get players to compete year in & out at Vandy. He is a very good hire.

Is this because of budget constraints? Hire a guy who's getting paid by a former employer and you can pay him below market value?

I could see that working and would not object. He does know the landscape of the SEC. Vandy is a tough place for anyone to be really successful. He did have some success but this year they were hit hard with Covid and Opt Outs. They usually always played hard under Mason.

I would be 100% on board with this. Mason as a HC is wayyyy different than just a DC. I also see with his experience, this wouldn't be some 2-3 year stint if he is successful. He comes across as a guy looking to settle rather than jump ship so soon and that's what O needs. Stability like SE on the offensive side of the ball. I would be completely fine with Mason and Davis and keep Raymond.

I just don’t understand why Mason’s name keeps coming up for DC. He was a DC at Stanford during a time when the PAC-12 was down overall and only Oregon was really doing anything.

Offenses have changed so much since 2014, get somebody who’s currently doing it.

Mason would be a good hire. His defenses at Vandy werent always statistically great but they played smart.

Not worried about recruiting. O's got that. That was his biggest selling point, at least.

I believe our guys would play harder for Mason.

Give me a damn DC that can make IN-GAME adjustments. If that's Mason, so be it. Those of you bashing Mason, well Kevin Steele was horrendous at Baylor, now completely different at Auburn, guess what changed for him, TALENT.

What has Mason done over the past 3-4 years to show he would be a Top Notch DC?

His defenses have given up over 30 points/game 2017-20.

His recruiting has dropped off.

What makes anyone think this is the best hire for LSU?
