We should NEVER finish with a single digit in the win column after a fully scheduled season. It's coaching malpractice if we do.

Troy just called and said that there are no "free wins". Isn't that why Florida lost last week?

Add 3 free OOC wins. 5-5 SEC schedule is 8-5 at worst

If you have a normal SEC schedule we don't play Vanderbilt, South Carolina, and Missouri in the same year. Assuming the same outcomes LSU beats: Vanderbilt, Florida, Arkansas, and Ole Miss. They lose to: Alabama, Auburn, A&M, and MSU.

The fact that they lost to Missouri and MSU level teams should make people concerned they would have potentially lost to not just an ooc team like Texas but potentially also to teams like Troy or UAB. That's just what this year's results were, a good upset win with a lot of mediocre or bad play mixed in. There's a greater likelihood that LSU would have been 6-6 or 7-5 in a normal year than 8-4.

7-5/8-4 depending on the Texas game. Texas was not good to start the season plus’s healthy Brennan and Chase in a normal season. Would have been a shoot out and could have gone either way.

UT was a loss early in the season.

With that, the loss to Mizzou hurt. This team should have been 8-4 at worse which is what I expected.

Assuming you swap Mizzou for Texas and keep it a loss plus add 3 rent a wins that is 7-5.

Not ideal, but definitely not bad

This is where I disagree. 8-5 is bad. Not terrible, but bad. 1 year at 8-5 ok. But at a school like LSU 8-5 is not an acceptable standard for "not bad".

We came oh so close to finishing 2-8

Arkansas missed FG
Florida shoegate
Ole Miss fumbled inside of 1 minute left about to score winning TD

You think we would have beaten Texas with this team?

O is also the guy who lost to Troy so I wouldn’t take anything for granted

I know you’re looking for any reason to hate this team but with a regular offseason/summer, I think we might be able to take the Horns. This year was no ordinary year. I liken it to playing football after the Thanos snap.

Yeah it's crazy to think that without the stupid losses early to Miss St and Mizzu, this would have been a 7-3 team.
