Both men were from Gonzales. Those who claimed the Baton Rouge culture was spreading to Ascension owe Baton Rouge an apology. That is your own home grown trash.

It was just approved this summer. AP don't frick around building schools. They throw up quality Primary schools like nobody in the State or even Texas for that matter. I know how ISD's work there.

This ^^^^

It's my understanding that they were breaking ground immediately after the bond renewal which passed in August.

Also, but for the 2016 flood, the school would likely have been completed by now. Money had to be reallocated to repair/rebuild projects in the school system.

My son's freshman class at Dutchtown had 640 students last year.

They are the 2nd biggest school in the state. The new school will take about 1000 from Dutchtown and 1000k from St. Amant. But both schools have handled the growth very well.

The stated goal is to reduce the burden from the Dutchtown, EA and St.Amant. All 3 are overpopulated.

Dutchtown - 2391
EA - 1853
St. Amant - 2105

Based on comments I've seen on FB from school board members, I suspect the feeder system as it is currently designed will be changed. I don't see how you have streams designed for 3 destinations and add a 4th and don't redo a good bit of it.

I suspect the new lines for the new primary school(s) will come into play.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff Office FaceBook posted the arrest and the comments are gold. Including one of the two Meth heads mother showing up. One of the baby mommas has shown up. Plenty of meth jokes. Never heard someone say “looks like those two got tore up by Methsquitoes” before

I can see it now...people will be pissed their kids will have to go to EA, even though personally it's a fine school and would have no problem sending my kid there, but I know how some people are.

I'm guessing they simply draw the lines and adjust so that you take roughly a 4th from each of the existing 3 to form the new one.

The shitshow that was the redistricting when Dutchtown opened will no doubt happen again.

It pays to have the Superintendent live in your neighborhood...until he moves.

My soon to be ex's parents live about a half mile from there.

That sure is an interesting place. 300K houses, 150K houses, and run down trailers, all in very close space to each other. Oh and a jail 2 miles away.

With all these new schools popping up in AP, Dutchtown Primary and Middle are falling apart. Both A schools but receiving little money for improvements.

Didn't they get some big new improvements like a cafeteria expansion, a few new classroom buildings and a new library?

But yeah, the original buildings needs to be torn down and something new put in its place.
