It looks like he is doing that all on his own. We both know there is nothing O could do to make you want him gone Ree.

The truth is an absolute defense in a defamation suit.

What 'truth'? Be specific.

If there is no 'truth' that rises to the level of a firing with cause, then an experienced defamation attorney can, at the very least, make life miserable and expensive for false accusers who have infringed on O's livelihood.

It all comes down to if the PTB want him gone, he will be gone ... they will find cause.

Hell, even though I wouldn’t fire him for it, the photo alone is grounds for termination with cause per his contract. But that would be a bad PR firing coming off the national title. Title9 stuff would make it a clean kill with no opposition.

Good post

If Ed wants to salvage his job (and I don't know the extent of the Title IX stuff), then:

- Cut ties with Bo and pay the buyout from his own salary.
- Let E retire.
- Hire competent coordinators. They're out there.
- Grow up. He's almost as old as I am and he behaves like a teenager. He has ZERO business being with girls her age at his age as HC at LSU. Grow up Ed!

I agree w/you 100 %. I am also pissed at the players. After using our tax money to house , feed, train & educate them this opting out shite is where my anger comes in. QUITTERS UNITE.

Don't care who he dates. She is lovely and she is in her late 20's. Both are single. More power to them both

Ed"s immaturity extends beyond this but if he wants to be HC of LSU perhaps he should hold himself to more acceptable standards of behavior.

Is that really what we want, your HC in bed with someone half his age?

Under the law both in Louisiana and in the United States, Coach O would be considered “a public figure”. In the context of defamation actions (libel and slander) as well as invasion of privacy, a public figure cannot succeed in a lawsuit on incorrect harmful statements in the United States unless there is proof that the writer or publisher acted with actual malice by knowing the falsity or by reckless disregard for the truth. The legal burden of proof in defamation actions is thus higher in the case of a public figure than in the case of an ordinary person like you and me.

In what world do you really think this would happen. Woodward negotiated the huge salary. Maybe Woodward should pay it.

I hope they can give the administration a clear picture of who is at fault in the Title IX case ASAP. At least information on O should be released early. If O is at fault in anyway, it would be best to know now rather than waiting until February.

He needs to be canned.

If and when he is, what will your view of him be when not one D1 program offers him as job as a head coach or even a DC?

You can question the judgment but she is over 21 (34 I think) and not an employee of LSU. Ed is not married any longer, not that I am praising him for leaving his wife, it is none of my business.

So while we all can question the morality of it, his personal life is not LSU's business with respect to who he dates.

The current President of the USA is married to a woman 24 years his junior (wife number 3). He is 74 and she is 54. I think O is 58 or 59 and this young woman from South Tangipahoa Parish (Ponchatoula I think) is around 33 or 34).

So never ask someone who they voted for, that is why we have a private vote, but I would hypothesize that many people here on O's rear about his new dating interest voted for the President. The age differences and situation are similar. Rich Power Man in NY divorces wife 2, marries supermodel 24 years his junior. Coach of LSU wins NC goes 15-0, is most popular man in the state, maybe 2nd most powerful behind the Governor and he leaves his wife and starts running around with a woman about 24 years his junior.

Nothing O did was illegal and violated any LSU PM or PS policy statements.
