The Italian culinary wonderland, part restaurant and food court, part department store and grocery, has opened in NorthPark Center. It’s the seventh location in North America, and one of forty around the world.

Even if you can’t fully experience the behemoth of Eataly under current COVID safety measures, the place is an experience. Remember when you first went to Central Market and couldn’t believe the selection, in terms of both quality and quantity? And how it was a place that made you want to cook but also not want to cook, since there was so much to eat on-site? And how going to the supermarket became a leisure activity in and of itself? Eataly is all that, but entirely Italian.

I've been to the original in NYC and the one in Chicago. The pastas, sandwiches, and gelato I had were fantastic. The selections of high-quality meats and seafood are eye-popping and wallet-busting. Lots of choices for olive oil, flour, pasta, etc.
This will be a stop on my next visit to Dallas.

Friend,
I have been to the ones in Chicago and NYC. To me, they are tourist traps. The pasta and meats I got there for cooking were subpar. The pizzas I ate there were unremarkable.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

Friend,
Eataly makes Impastatos seem like Olive Garden.

Friend,
Has mother tried the salami there? I know she has an affinity for big thick pieces of meat.
Yours sincerely with love,

It's in North Park
Is this better than Jimmy's?

I think it's just different than Jimmy's. It is way more corporate and massive, while Jimmy's is the place you feel comfortable in all the time

Love me some eataly. I could spend (and have) hours in there.

I will be there tomorrow. Having dinner at Terra on the roof top tomorrow night. Can't wait. I've also been in New York and Chicago and love it.

Ha, not even close. Jimmy's is old school Italian, Eataly is a corporate concept developed for multiple locations...aka a chain.
