Any collectors here? Been looking into Panini Prizm packs (NBA & NFL) and have no idea where to even start. Is that one of the better ones to buy?

Expect to get a lot of trash in NFL Prizm. NBA Prizm is far superior. Panini is the best, then Optic, then Mosaic, and everything else. You could just start with mosaic or optic.

Prime stuff for basketball. Hobby packs are great to crack. I cracked a case of football 2020 Panini Prizm back in April and got some great stuff.
Just be aware of the bullshite redemption codes. Don't expect to get your cards in anytime soon

How far back do your collections go? I have gone back and forth with contemplating unloading some of my collections from the late 80s & early 90s; but never sat down and actually tried to figure out what I still have.
No reason other than they take up space in my closet.

Not very far. I have the Pete Maravich rookie but everything else is modern LSU football rookies. Joe burrow mojo auto Prizm from the Prizm set is the next one I need (I'd have the full LSU draft class completed /49) and the Topps Shaq rookie
Most of my collection is Pokemon though
Edit: 80s and 90s are pretty rough as far as card pricing. Not much value in those cards unless you have a high end HOF rookie card

I go back to the 50s and 60s. Did some spring cleaning and cleared out everything non-valuable, so I still have about 10-11 binders full.
I see it as something to pass down to the kids at some point and let them go through them, wondering why I have some of the players in there that I do
