Tops finest ..goat set . Pulled a refractor insert penny Hardaway rookie card out of a 10 dollar box of random sports and brands that was at walmart.

Didnt think that could happen. Curious what it's worth now. I sold it for 300 a long time ago

You can pull anything out of a Walmart blaster box. It's just your odds are much lower than a hobby box

Is there not much of a market for the Panini contender series?

There's a market for most sets if you get the right pulls

I just got some solid boys in the mail

Playoff Contender Rookie Tickets are the GOAT of rookie cards, just because it is a set that has existed for 20yrs, and one with an auto, nearly always.

Players in the professional uniforms will always be more valuable than players in college uniforms.

Also more so depends on the print runs. Something like Panini Prizm draft picks has a low print running compared to the other Panini sets, so it'll command a higher price. Contenders is a highly printed set, so it's not that sought after

Bump. Had some luck on some NBA hoops premium stock cellos lately, pulled a Zion blue Prizm, Zion "Keys to the Kingdom" insert, and a Zion variation. Also pulled a silver Coby White and laser Prizm Ja Morant tribute.

Been buying single Collin Sextons and MPJs lately.

I just thought about getting back into this but the hobby left me a decade ago it seems.

I’m not paying $250.00 for one hobby box of Gypsy Queen garbage. And that’s on the cheaper end.

There’s no way I’m recouping $250 a box if I put every single card on Ebay.

Why are there so few football rookies of them in their pro team jerseys? All I can find are college jerseys or them at the combine.

Covid probably has to do with alot of that. I'm sure not having the Rookie Premiere event didn't help either. The later releases have the rookies in their pro team gear though.

Panini is lazy. Puts out Prizm, their flagship set, and its half rookies at the combine. They dont give a shite. You'll still buy them and they will still rake in the money. They've been an abysmal company for over a decade.

Funny this thread is recent and active as I stumbled upon Packman’s video channel on YouTube the other day and it reminded me of my collecting days.

I used to collect religiously back in the early 00s, I never chased the rare cards just collected base sets and such. I thought it was hard dropping 40-50 bucks at a time back then this dude is out here dropping thousands on hobby boxes with 4 cards in them. Unreal how expensive it’s gotten.

What’s the most anybody in here has ever dropped on a hobby box and what was your best pull valued at? The odds to at least recoup what you dropped on the box have to be abysmal.
