He has millions of dollars on the line and seeing the inconsistency of the team, changing of QBs after two drives and the overall regression of the team, how can we blame him. I called this last night
All that money on the line, then why even start the season? So bullshite.
Inconsistency, sure... but other teams have had that and players kept playing. So bullshite.
Change in QB, SERIOUSLY??? You were probably one calling for TJ the first time MB had a 3 and out. So bullshite.
Sorry... I'm old school and just don't understand the "opting out" because if you're truly opting out then that should be a knee for this year and see you next. These opt outside are just quitting.... period. And that's fine, but call it what it is.

he quit. Period. He gave that speech to the team about how he had nothing to play for and was still playing...then quit shortly thereafter.

I don’t know why people feel entitled to these players loving LSU and playing for their fandom. For every Marshall there are 5 receivers that never see the field that nobody cares about. Damn right this a business.

This is weird meaningless season. I don’t fault him for opting out.

I support my wife, but if she ran out on me, I wouldn’t anymore. That would make her support flimsy, not mine

Can’t say I blame him. He’s a businessman taking care of business.

The easiest thing to do when shite gets hard is “to quit.” “Opting out” is bullshite... they fricking QUIT!!! How deep are we in the season?

If you want to call him a quitter, whatever. Calling him a piece of shite is pathetic. You should maybe take a step back and look in the mirror

He’s played this far into the season, why quit now
IDK how about because the semester is basically over, there’s a pandemic and no guarantee we will even play 3 more games, we already went 3 weeks with a game, as did A&M and Bama. This weeks game was changed on Friday

Sewell , the OT from Oregon is a lock at #3. Parsons, from Penn St. is a top 8 pick at LB. Their teams aren’t doing shite either. I don’t see players like this taking that route.
Chase, Vincent, and Shelvin opted out.
Marshall QUIT.

He seems like a good kid, who knows who’s in his ear convincing him to do what he did. It is a poor decision but I’m not sure about the personal attacks.

Decency and civility are gone on this board.

I guess every 3rd year player on a team with 2 or more loses should just quit as well????? Or is there another problem at LSU that hasn't been clarified?

An advisor clearly got to him. I’m sure after Bateman from Minnesota opted out again recently it helped with this decision because he’s effectively competing with that guy as WRs with R1 grades.
Medical had been one of Marshall’s biggest knocks, so you really can’t blame him especially with the instability at QB and in this offense. LSU is not playing for anything this year with their record. Better to start getting ready for the Combine.
I respect his decision. Just wish he’d have had the foresight not to conduct team leadership meetings as recent as a week ago if he knew he was leaving the team.
