Changing mayors in BR won’t change anything with crime

You guys honestly think a bunch of crackheads are gonna give two shits about who the mayor is?? Yes crime is worse now than it was 10 years ago, but that has nothing to do with the mayor. Crime is always gonna be present in metropolitan areas. As long as there are significant socioeconomic discrepancies in the community, there will be crime. There definitely are some issues in BR that can be addressed with a change in leadership, but crime ain’t one of them. That is a weak hill to die on.

How would you like to solve socioeconomic discrepancies?

The Police Chief reports to the Mayor
The street cops report to the police chief
They are told what areas to patrol, they are told what arrests to make & what to let slide
The Mayor is a big part of the problem but so are the judges that let repeat offenders back on the streets
What a BS excuse
So much money is wasted on programs & other BS & nothing will change
Until someone decides they don’t want to live off the government & raise their kids to be productive citizens nothing will change

Nothing will happen as long as we have permanent black victimhood
Get rid of the gov't sugar daddy, strengthen black families with fathers who stay around, and make people take pride in their lives. And that can only be done on a national level.

Tell this to the 600 cops in Baton Rouge that have seen their co-workers removed from work for kneeling on a felony suspects back to cuff him or for frisking a non compliant entitled football player who “thinks” his rights were violated.
Liberal politicans create feel good policies to appease their base. Those policies have chilling effects.
The results are lost souls.

The mayor has handcuffed the police and won’t allow them to do their job.
Eat shite broom apologist.

The current mayor defunded the morale of the BRPD.

Execept poor whites committ much less crime than blacks at the same or even higher income levels.

Didn’t even read body. Downvoted on title alone.

So Broome or her staff sent you here to change the narrative. Good luck!
You’re doomed if you vote Broome.

BRPD won’t be relevant again in most of our lifetime. If they started today, it would literally take generations to fix. There is no one left that lives in Baton Rouge who knows how to fix it. The current chief won’t even live in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Yes it will if you get the right person who cares about the community and not in it for themselves

Uh, she basically neutered the cops as soon as she took office.
Hell, people in her administration said the GIS program they used to target crime hotspots was racist

Central Appalachia is poor AF.
Very low violent crime rate.
Wonder what the difference is????

This is anecdotal, but I really think the major problem (besides political leadership) is the overall normalization of crime in the city. Kids are ingrained in that lifestyle from birth basically. While I enjoy some BR rap from time to time, that has a tremendous effect on a lot of the younger kids and they aspire to live the songs of their favorite rapper. I'm not saying it's all rap musics fault in any way. But the main problem is that crime is glorified in BR, and not just in the black communities, you got crazy white people doing all sorts of crime too in some areas. But having a mayor that is strong on crime cannot make matters any worse that much is for sure.

in laymen’s terms: the lack of responsibility, work ethic, and nuclear family by a growing segment of the population dependent on tax payers.

You are looking at the wrong end of the stick. The lawless dont care but the LEO community does. If they know that the mayor's office is going to hang them out to dry then you will see a minimal effort enforcement.
