You realize tariffs are a tax on local consumers, right? It’s also extremely anti-capitalism...didn’t realize we had so many commies on this board that don’t love a free market. Sad

You mean just like income and property taxes?
You didn’t get his point, did you?

I love some old channel lok brand I have.
But stahlwille will be the next imvestment.
Stahlwille is good but I prefer Knipex adjustable pliers.
One I really like and use a lot is the Knipex smooth jawed Pliers Wrench:
For electrical pliers I prefer NWS in their matte chromium finish
For Screwdrivers, bits and combo wrenches I prefer Wera. The Wera Joker wrench is amazing. If interested look up some reviews on Youtube to see how innovative they are. YOu have to see them demonstrated to understand.

Where my livelihood or heavy use depends on power tools, I've purchased Milwaukee, Makita or Ingersoll-Rand. Makitas have great power with a compact size for working in confined places.
If you have Chinese tools, store them near your trash can because that's where they'll end up. I've learned my lesson a couple of times.

I worked at Sears in the late 80’s. You could bring a broken Craftsman tool in and we’d replace it. No questions asked.
I had a craftsman Phillips head screwdriver that was practically burned in half (trying determine which breaker turned off the hot water heater).
They swapped it out despite my idiocy.

If you ever use Knipex
I have a few Knipex tools but I pick up my Channellock tools out of the bag much more often. Best electricians pliers I've ever used are Kleins.

We still have my Father's woodworking tools from the 40s and 50s. One router needed to be repaired; no problem RJ Marchand in NOLA took care of it at a good price.
Now Marchand has closed and the mfg has moved abroad and that router is our main one, as is the table saw, drill press, etc.
My kitchen tools and appliances are old and sturdy. (Sometime, when someone shows you a gleaming new kitchen, have them compare volumns of made in china measuring cups. I'll bet that no two cups hold the same amount, nor do the half cups.
And then there are the fragile Corning Ware things made abroad.

I have mostly domestic hand tools. Klein,Craftsman( 40 or 50 year old craftsman) Proto,Ridgid.
Bosch is my go to for cordless drills and drivers. Anything Milwaukee makes is good. I have a Milwaukee grinder and worm gear saw. that are 40 years old.

They don’t make them like they used to. That’s for sure.

We bought a Craftsman riding lawnmower around 1980-81. Whenever it needed any maintenance or work my mom would call the Sears Service Center and they’d send out a field service mechanic. I was like 10-11 years old at the time and he taught me and my brother how to do things like change the oil and blades.

Corningware and Pyrex both took a dump after being sold to WorldKitchen. Pyrex isn't even made from borosilicate glass anymore which gave it the oven to table properties we came to expect. If you treat tempered soda lime glass like boro it will explode.

Capitalism is a global business
Whatever you call our economic system, it's not unreasonable to argue that certain results are wrong and that we should strive to influence these results. We don't have to just accept a system that results in, for example, American wood being shipped to China to be made into paper that will be returned to the US for sale. That's an objectively bad result, and if the pretty pieces of paper we've decided are valuable indicate otherwise then the system built around them needs to change.

Milwaukee is a Chinese company and a vast majority of Makita tools are made overseas, in Japan or China.
