They will try to get Urban Meyer, but end up with Jim Harbaugh.

With a few seasons as an exception, Mack Brown couldn’t win at Texas and Mack Brown, like Les Miles, was an excellent recruiter. Herman can’t do either! Maybe the Texas brass needs to realize they will always be like Texas A&M is in the sec, just happy to be playing with the big boys and not worry about the wins and losses!

Why? I don't know the story. Was he involved in the Zach Smith deal?

Yes he won but consistent 2-3 loss season, with a few exceptions. My point is it appears to not really matter as to who the Texas coach is. Maybe they should just be satisfied winning the games they win. It was a poor Troll attempt. It’s obvious Mack brown shouldn’t have ever been let go at Texas because at least recruiting wouldn’t have suffered.

They would have fired Darrell Royal before he won his second title if he had coached in this era.

I wonder if they pull what they did when they hired McWilliams? Watch them go hire Campbell.

Freeze would, but I’m sure Texas leadership thinks a coach like that is beneath them.

His tenure has been romanticized. He lost to OU all the time, would drop a random game to k-state or someone almost every year and loved the holiday bowl.

He was still way better than what they had before or after

Mack Brown is like a lloyd carr.

Have a few elite seasons and a championship.

Send a lot of guys to NFL.

always have around 2-3 losses including the rival games. Finish with a good but not big time bowl game.

Very good coaches but also had some underachieving elements.

Well when that’s where the 2nd in Big XII was slotted that is why he went.
