They most likely finish 7-3. I know the fanbase is fed up but do they really can him with that record while dealing with this covid mess? How much is Texas on the hook for?

If they had Urban locked up you get rid of him but this constant cycling of coaches just sets them back further.

It’s obvious Mack brown shouldn’t have ever been let go at Texas because at least recruiting wouldn’t have suffered.

I disagree with this part. It got stale at the end under Mack, and both sides needed a change, but from about 2001-2009, they were as consistently good as anyone in the country.

Mack recruited well every where but O-line and it turned out to be pretty important

He’s a clown. I just don’t see them pulling the trigger unless they lose to K State and I doubt that happens.

I think this is a les miles 2015 situation. Everyone knows it’s over but state politics and optics get in the way. Then TCU or Oklahoma states beats them in September then he gets canned.

I can’t wait for another UT coaching search after urban tells them no.

If I were them I'd hire Matt Campbell.

Hopefully they wont.

He’s a great coach. And seems like tremendous person. But he needs to get those teeth fixed.

They should go after Campbell

Guy is doing one hell of a job at ISU, he's got them to their ceiling, and deserves a top gig.

You mean they did not just offer Orgeron $5 Million/year more than Saban?

I want to make it clear that Iowa state Is no where near as good of a job as Texas but I wouldn’t leave Iowa stare for Texas.

Campbell has a job for life if he wants, if he goes to Texas he has a chance to complete ruin his reputation and limp back to where you came from.

Whats the upside of keeping him? Program has no momentum. Ehllinger is gone. Herman wasted what should have been good years with an experienced Qb.

His offense scheme is terrible. His in game decisions are terrible. His recruiting has been ok but player development has been horrible.

The top oline prospect in Texas whose dad played for the longhorns is going to Bama, because he was quoted "Texas doesn't develop players"

Herman doesn't have much positive momentum. I say its time to try again if they have a good coach intrested.

Texas went almost a decade without having an o-linemen drafted. It’s mind blowing

There aren’t many coaches that can match that 9 year stretch. Double digit wins every year, three 1 loss seasons, one undefeated NC season, and 7-2 in bowl games.

However, Mack only won 2 conference titles in 16 years. Both conference titles came in rare years when OU was down.

Also, it wasn’t just OU or Texas winning the conference. Nebraska, Colorado, and A&M won early in Mack’s tenure. Baylor, Kansas St. and Okie St also won the Big12 while he was at Texas.
