Lowe says it’s Lottery protected in 2023. I assume that means loosened restrictions in 2024. That’s a smart as shite move by Griff.

I wish it were unprotected if it’s that far back. I would get next year’s protected but I’m not a big fan of this draft anyways so what do I know haha.

That’s a shitload of protection. It also means that Denver is restricted from trading those picks until it conveys. Think about that briefly.

So it is a move that basically comes down to whether the unknown talent in the late teens or twenties 2 years from now is superior to RJ Hampton’s potential today.
...Or packaged into a larger deal.
Eh, I’m indifferent for the most part but Hampton’s upside isn’t something that falls like that every year, and I think given Denver’s strong scouting history, there is a pretty good reason they made this move.

That can't just trade one pick this year for one in the future that will likely be in a similar spot; that completely ignores time value.
