The reality is he actually does have leverage, but the leverage is simply the fact that teams allow him to have leverage.

Also, they don't have to trade him to Brooklyn, that's really more so where I was going with the leverage stuff. Trade him to the highest bidder, if it's not Brooklyn then so be it. If BKN doesn't give you the proper value, then keep him.

OK.

Let’s pretend that posters who work in IB making half a million a year is the norm around here.

That depends. What do you do?

Can he fire you today and replace you relatively quickly with someone of approximate skill?

If this was some player on a 2-way contract this wouldn't have even made the news.

That kind of proves my point.

I’m not trying to say he doesn’t have leverage. I’m saying that it’s kind of a douche thing to do, and comparing it to “normal people” doesn’t make sense.

LeBron gets a lot of flack from people (myself included) for jumping teams, but at least he never tried to force his way out of a situation, and he certainly had the leverage to do so.

could you imagine Mike Trout demanding to be traded to the Yankees?

Well, we all know the Yankees get first dibs on any baseball player asking for a trade anyway. Even when they have nothing to trade.

Talk to any writer that covers multiple pro sports, and they'll tell you baseball players are by far the biggest a-holes to deal with. Hockey guys are the easiest, basketball and football are about the same.

The NBA is dead to me...LeBrick killed it with his pompous lecturing.

Harden is asking to be traded to a franchise he grew up in that his father played for?

It's a billion dollar business, they're all "douches" when it comes to that.

The owners, apparently especially Houston's owner, are extremely rich douchebags. It's just a business decision.

Just woke up this morning to a headline on fs1 that said

REPORT: celtics and danny a say they were warned not to sign harden. Lol wtf.

Anybody have any idea what that could be about? Sounds to me like danny ainge wants the Boston fans to think hes big game hunting so he just made that up so they would think it was good to not get him.
Or he made it up to drop harden's value if possible

Either way,I'd be shocked if ainge is the source, in other words ,ainge made it all up for one of those two reasons.
If it was true,I wonder what they warned him about paticulary
