My first thoughts, he would likely turn Texas around and make them a consistent contender, maybe a power house. Could affect our recruiting, but I think it will more negatively affect A&M and Bama. Being that they are in our division, could be a silver lining. I think he’d pull five stars and blue chips from Bama weakening their depth overall. He would destroy A&M in state recruiting. Would make waves for sure. But I think we’d be fine and maybe better off as long as we keep the state locked down. Thoughts?

Hurt us far more than it helps us.

We already out recruit A&M in texas for guys we want. Having maybe the best coach in the country on our state border would be horrible. Don't want him dipping into Louisiana (which he would be able to do as good as any coach in the country.)

We want Texas to be a bottom feeder for as long as possible.

Oh definitely. Lincoln Riley would likely go to the NFL.

Definitely hurts recruiting.

Not to mention he's the all time biggest recruiting trail snitch ever.

He'll spend all day on the phone with the NCAA between us and Jimbo/Brewer over at ATM.

Urban is a great coach, but his demons will eventually catch up with him. He was mired in the OSU domestic abuse scandal which resulted in him being put on administrative leave. He lied about a medical condition at Florida to get out of his contract. He's as shady as any coach in recruiting and then snitches on other programs.

Great coach, trash person.

@bayouCowboy - 10000% false... great family great guy - great coaches are wired differently... he has had a tremendous impact on many lives outside of football in Ohio and Florida for that matter... he doesn’t fall into the conventional wisdom of what the media says is great so they attack him...

From personal experience- that famiky is first rate!

So he wasn't suspended 3 games for knowing his asst. coach was abusing his pregnant wife and doing nothing?

You nuts. He is by far one of the most corrupt scandalous wolf in sheep’s clothing Coach to ever walk the sidelines. What took place at Florida snd OSU was criminal! Crime, rape, drugs, money. This includes his coaches. Snd he denied and lied about all of it.

Ehh I mean I am not a Meyer lover but that situation was a weird one. Zach Smith was basically Urbans nephew. Very close families.

That would put anyone in a unique situation. You as a human would try and be positive and help the situation. I don’t give anyone a pass but can see why Urban thought he handled it ok

I wish we could get him. LSU would become the new Alabama.
