if coach fires him now or at the end of the season, we are stuck paying a massive buyout either way.

if we move on from him now, it at least signals to fans and more importantly players and recruits that coach o's standards will not allow for this disastrous level of play. Also, if we were to move on from him now, even with an interim DC... our defensive performance can ONLY improve.

im honestly struggling to find pros. i know some of it is the players and not Bo. But our players are NOT thaaaaaat bad.

He’s not a good in game coach. We will routinely give up big plays if he’s allowed to run the defense even after our players get more experienced.

He's not a good coach. The game yesterday looked like the first game.

Figure out how to get him gone now.

Do a real search and get somebody that knows what they're doing.

I agree. We aren't 30+ point worse than Auburn talent wise. It starts with coaching.

Either the players aren't understanding his teachings or they just don't like him. There are times when screaming and hollering can be a teachable moment but he doesn't seem to operate that way. If he did, we would've seen more improvement, even if it was gradual.

He's just not what this team needs and giving him more time to "figure it out" or "get what he needs" could be more harmful than good, as far as recruiting is concerned. Like I said, the game yesterday looked like the first game. There are no adjustments. It's staying with what isn't working. I understand we have new players and lost a lot from last season but it's not because we lack talent. We lack coaching. From the DC and from O to keep putting trust into Pelini to figure it out. How much time are you going to give Pelini? You hired him to simplify the defense and it is the worst defense in over 20 years. That's a fact. People that lit it up last year on defense look lost this season. It's definitely concerning.

If I were O, I'd seriously be considering it. Retaining Pelini would be the last thing on my mind. Figure the money stuff out later.

Let Corey Raymond loose. Give him a chance because obviously whatever Bo is doing isn’t working. Players aren’t responding at all.

I agree.

Something. Anything.

Can hardly be worse than what we see now but at least Pelini would be gone. He's the guy that should be fixing the issues on defense. It's ultimately his responsibility.

there are no cons. he is not a good coach. we talk about the buy out, but it's tax payer money, it's TAF money, and that's basically free. Show him the state line.

He’s not a good game day, in-game coordinator. The defense doesn’t respect him or listen to him and it will only get worse. It’s like a cancer that’s in dire need of being removed.. Either bite the bullet and take it out, or wait for it to become metastatic. I had huge, high hopes for him, but he hasn’t translated well at all.

I honestly can’t think of pros in firing Pelini this soon. The cons are many but at the top of the list for me is recruiting. This 4th ranked class could dramatically drop quickly with decommits. With LSU being in an obvious rebuild, recruiting dictates everything.

He should be let go today. Give over of the younger defensive coaches a chance to showcase, whether for this job or another one. You have two weeks to prepare for Alabama, hopefully it won't be worse than the Auburn game.

do you want a whole new system installed yet again for next year when we expect to make a run for a title? you understand the risks that come with that?

pellini's track record in pros, OU, LSU and nebraska shows he can coach. something is not right with this team.

I’ve been saying this to friends/alumni. Use this time as a tryout for Corey. He’s been wanting to be a DC. If the team shows improvement, you can make him the new DC. If the defense doesn’t perform any better, you go out and do an actual coaching search at the end of the season and Corey goes back to DB coach

You have no money for the buyout. Did you people not see the layoffs and pay cuts.

Stupid is going to be stupid forever.

Bad PR but donors have now stepped in. Buyout is not a problem just bad optics at the moment.

I agree. Bo has to go. As in NOW! The defense has shown ZERO improvement. 5 games in and they actually look worse in certain areas (i.e. tackling, effort, alignment).

They got away with playing 2 crappy coached teams that decided to run the air raid when they could have run at will. LSU should seriously be 1-4 right now. Thank God Muschamp is a moron!

That could become a con of the situation. You name Raymond interim but go elsewhere with the hire. Are you willing to lose him if he feels snubbed by not getting the job

We are stuck with Bo likely till 2022. With yhe monetary hit the AD has taken this year. It will be damn near impossible to get the buyout paid. Private donors are also not gonna just throw money around with the uncertainty of covid
