Tf y’all doing with this cold arse butter. No one can spread that shite. Keep it in a little container on the counter where it belongs.

If something is stored in the cooler at the grocery store you store it in the refrigerator at home.

ETA: See the produce section for reference.

My wife thinks everything goes in the fridge. Thinks it's a magic box.

A stick of butter keeps perfectly fine on the counter for extended periods of time. You throw the milk out on the expiration date too, because the government said so?

Vermont Creamery butter is good too.

We put a little bit out if we're planning on using it for spreading but our kitchen gets too warm for it to be out all of the time. Especially since I bake fairly often.

I buy one of those packs with four sticks. Three go in the fridge and the one in the counter.

We don’t store shite on the counter because we’re not two dudes sharing an apartment in college.

Trashy thread. I prefer my butter non-rancid.

According to the USDA, butter is safe at room temperature. But if it’s left out for several days at room temperature, it can turn rancid causing off flavors. The USDA does not recommend leaving it out more than one to two days.

Well if the government says so that must be the best advice.

I butter my toast with the stick of butter. Can't do that with a soft blob of butter.
