Cleveland, strapped for money, intend to trade All-Star shortstop Francisco Lindor by opening day, several rival teams have been informed. Lindor earned $17.5 million last season and is projected to earn about $21 million in salary arbitration in his final year before free agency

Lots of news from around the league with all of the non tenders today, too lazy right now to list all the significant moves but will do so tomorrow unless someone else does

Doubt anyone cares, but Rangers announced that they are moving gold glove 3B to SS and Elvis Andrus will be a utility infielder.
End of an era, he is the only guy left from the two World Series teams.

From mlbtraderumors:

The non-tender deadline has passed. Some of the more notable non-tenders included Kyle Schwarber, David Dahl, Archie Bradley, Eddie Rosario, Adam Duvall, Maikel Franco, Nomar Mazara, and Carlos Rodon.

Can definitely see Schwarber headed to the Yankees. They've been enamored with him for years

If free agency hasn't started, when does it start?

Gausman and Stroman should and I believe will. The rest definitely shouldn't and definitely wouldn't.

I hate to be the guy to shite on your prognostications but the deadline for players to respond to qualifying offers was November 11th. Stroman and Gausman were in fact the only players to accept the QOs.

Haven't been following baseball lately and didn't even look at the dates for any of the posts so that's my mistake.
Posted on 12/3/20 at 11:33 am to Lsuhoohoo
Do players accept the QO’s somewhat regularly now? I remember Rasmus being the first to do so a few years back.

Jon Daniels is no longer the Rangers GM. He will remain the head of baseball operations.
Chris Young, who was the senior VP of MLB in the commissioner’s office is the new GM. He chose the Texas job over the Mets.
