Do players accept the QO’s somewhat regularly now? I remember Rasmus being the first to do so a few years back.

Depends on the situation. Neither Gausman nor Stroman would've gotten near the money they did if they declined the QO. Stroman "played" long enough last year to gain service time then opted out. Gausman had a decent year last year, but that was imo an outlier compared to his prior couple seasons. Very smart of those guys to accept.

First move for Texas under Young sees Lance Lynn sent to the CWS for RHP Dane Dunning (#98 overall prospect) and LHP Avery Weems.

Luckily there is no farm system left for him to pillage.

I've seen first hand what pillaging a great farm system looks like. Frank Wren, a Dombroski protégé, did it to the Braves system as GM. That's why Schuerholz fired his arse. Thankfully he was let go before he dealt Acuna and Albies, whom he both drafted.

Lynn to Chi Sox trade was very good trade for both sides. Chi Sox get a legit top of the rotation guy and are now top team in AL?

Rangers get a guy that can be at least average in their rotation for the next 6 years

I put a question mark because I was asking if they are now the top team in the AL.

If the Rays trade Snell and the Yankees do not resign DJ and the Astros do not properly replace Springer, then I think the Chi Sox are the team to beat in AL.

The Rays, Astros, and Yankees all have MILB depth to continue to fill in the roster as a season goes on. The White Sox aren't there yet. Their MLB club is starting to look pretty good. They just need to improve their player development and hire their manager a driver and they'll be set.

They currently have a higher ranked farm system than both the Astros and Yankees. They have holes at RF and DH. Every other position will be a 100< OPS+ guy.

I think the only thing currently holding them back is that they have not 'been there' (deep postseason run) yet like those other teams.

The rotation outside Giolito is a massive question mark for me

And Lance Lynn is not a legit top of the rotation guy

Lynn and Kuechel were top 10 in CY Young last year. I think Lynn is like 3 in fWAR since start of 2019 for all pitchers.

I would not be surprised to see Kuechel regress next year tho. We'll see

Agreed.

Still a long ways to go, but I like the moves.

Josh Bell traded to the Nats for 2 minor league pitchers.

Crowe is terrible but Jean is a wild card.

Two years control for the Nats.
