I work for a roofing company. We are at about $350 a square. People asking for quotes are the WORST btw. It doesn’t matter the price. You can’t keep any of the money. It’s insurance fraud. We do the roof for what your adjuster said it needs to be done for. Plain and simple. All you owe is your deductible.
Ah, so you're one of the Dbags that won't even do a quote? (just work through insurance so they can drastically overpay and the homeowner is none the wiser).
Straight slimeball sleeze.
*you are the Gordon Mckernan of the construction industry and everyone laughs at you.
People wonder why insurance is so F'n high

Shingles were in short supply before Laura hit, now they are really, really hard to get...

I know a local baw who went from selling cars to creating his own roofing company and is now installing roofs. He just hired some laid off oilfield baws to go hustle tarping and roofing jobs. I'm sure he can hook you up.

Just got quoted 22k for 1700 sqft house
Wow. I paid 21k for a 2700 sqft a couple months ago. And I upgraded the shingle to so kind that’s guaranteed not to get that black mold on it. That was 1k

So that's how all that works

Haha you know people. You can’t keep the money from the insurance company. I didn’t say you couldn’t get rewarded for advertising, giving referrals, etc

Might be hitting you up soon. Roof was done after Laura, total replace. Adjuster walked it today for Delta and is scoping replacement of the entire street-facing slope, adding a few squares for patch everywhere else.
Only thing funner than a claimed roof replacement is 2 claimed roof replacements.

Wait as long as you can. I did a roof after Gustav and got gouged. Horrible crew from who knows where. Crappy job. Had to call them to come back out after water started pouring into house from my "new roof". I suspect they just hired extra crews off the street and sent them out. Well known large roofing company.

Epic thread about an employee and customer spouse. It was hilarious while it lasted.

lol. Except for insurance depreciating the value of your roof. Insurance estimated my roof at $12,775. Depreciated it to $8640. Actual cost to replace roof: $15,480. Deductible: $11,340.
Posted on 10/30/20 at 12:14 pm to colorchangintiger
In many cases, depreciation is recoverable after repairs have been completed.

Did insurance pay anything since their deprecated value was less than your deductible?

So you'll do my roof for $270/square? That's what the adjuster quoted a 4 year old architectural roof for me. With Full replacement Insurance. If so put down your email and I'll let you come work for $270/Square.
MOTHER frick INSURANCE COMPANIES.

Yes, I have water damage to 85% of the interior of my house as well. Total money received after deductible was $16k. So they Estimated ~$27k total. Just tear out, replacing the fence and the roof has been ~$40k. Now we have just about every floor, wall, ceiling, and cabinet in the house to replace.
