Right. And his zinger really made him look like a stupid frick with the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis, Mickey Gilley, Web Pierce, and Tim McGraw (among others) all hailing from NELA.
On another note, you should see the new gigantic Johnny's on 18th street. Damnedest Johnny's I've ever seen. Hope it can put out McKeen quality pies....

There's a guy from my home town that lives in Nashville and goes by Ross Ellis - he graduated from Northeast/ULM, but is from the Miss-Lou area. He wrote one of Tim McGraw's last songs...Neon Church. He played the bars around Monroe when he was in college.

I've heard this so many times, but since moving to Lafayette can say unequivocally that this is absolute horseshite. BJ's cannot hold a candle to Johnny's. As far as beer crusts go Johnny's is hands down the best there is. Not everyone likes beer crust and that's ok.
And Mckeen was the best in Monroe, but the old Farmerville location out by the football stadium was the GOAT Johnny's.
