Maybe I'm old school. The QB situation is pretty simple to me....

MB did nothing thus far to move him to the bench when healthy. Kid came in not as poised as TJ in his first start but he did throw for over 1100 yards, 11 TDs, and 3 picks in three games and average over 40 points a game. When he is healthy he should be the starter. The offense will look different because, imo, MB will not get used to run which would show more of the RPO.
Now, if TJ shows the same poise and development this weekend, then my biggest concern is losing Max Johnson.

Hard to disagree with anything there. It was a great game by TJ, if he gets another chance this weekend and shows out again, then it becomes a true question moving forward if you continue to ride that wave or go back to Brennan if he's healthy - because whoever it is after that, you're riding with them to start against the biggest game of the year at home against Bama.
Having 2 great QBs show themselves out on the field is never a bad thing though, even though some will try and make a controversy out of it

If Myles had poise, it wouldn’t be a debate. Still shouldn’t be, because Myles never once had a decent running game or a defense that made a few stops. Plus TJ wasn’t asked to come from behind or anything. Myles is the guy

Exactly.
Next year you already are going to have a battle between Myles and TJ, then you have Nussmeier coming in.
I highly doubt Max stays.
Another way to look at it...how awesome is it to have multiple solid QBs that can step in and light it up at LSU finally?!

Whether Myles did anything to lose the job or not, if Finley plays well again and we win, we will have a legit controversy on our hands.

It can’t be overstated how much Finley being quick enough to scramble opens up the offense. We’ve seen what happens to the running game when Myles does a zone read handoff.

I think it depends on how bad Myles' injury was.
If it's mild, could be back for Bama.
If it's more serious, TJ might be starting the rest of the year.
I think if it was serious, we wouldn't be getting a 'Don't believe he's going to play' from Coach O.

Maybe our running game under TJ was better because the defense knew TJ was an actual threat to run and had to allocate defenders for that threat, whereas Brennan was always going to handoff.

They werent though, rewatch the game.
I'd argue that the entire reason Finley had success running the ball was because they weren't respecting him enough which makes sense based on a lack of mobility being the major knock on him coming out of high school.

My biggest takeaway is that LSU finally has an offense that allows for a QB to truly develop the skills they need to play at the next level. The RPO game is great for young guys to get used to the speed of the game and then throwing in what has become a dynamic passing attack once they’re experienced should excite every LSU fan. The QBs of the future are watching this and getting excited about potentially playing FOR LSU!

Is MB mobile and teams respected his running?

Why? We will lose one of them regardless in time. Once it becomes apparent TJ is the guy Max will no doubt transfer out or vice versa and I wont blame him for it either. I just hope we don't lose his little brother in the process.

MB is just as mobile as Finley.
Teams didn't respect any kind of running from LSU because they just werent doing it and the offensive line was getting no push with Ingram out.

We will get Nussmeier next year and Johnson could technically redshirt next season and then most likely transfer if we are all being honest. Then you get Howard the following year. QBs will transfer more than any position. Get used to it.

After ONE game? Really? We’ll see.

Exactly. QB future finally looks bright and people are worried about losing someone that cant win the starting job.

Going forward, we are going to have to use Brennan more like we did Finley last week. Not necessarily on sneaks, but he needs to be at least a threat to pull it back and take off for the run option play to work.

MB might be decent taking off and running but he is a a statue in the pocket. I don't know if it's a lack of awareness or simply slow feet but he doesn't slide around in the pocket like Finley. That's the root of his struggles on 3rd down. It wasn't simply that Finley got better protection, Finley sidestepped pressure all night that would have sacked Brennan.
