Le GOAT
Don Hutson (look at him compared to his peers in that era)
Moss
Chris Carter
Fitz or Lance Alworth (6 all pros, 7 pro bowls in 11 seasons)?
I think you'd also have to give consideration to guys like Steve Largent, Raymond Berry and maybe Calvin Johnson. Problem with Johnson he stopped in the middle of his dominance, and didn't have something like 9 years straight of it like Barry Sanders before retiring early.
ETA: Updated because I tried thinking about this too damn early in the morning. Thank you for two level headed posters pointing a few athletes out, and it reminded me about the original GOAT receiver.

I’d put Cris Carter in over Harrison with their similar stats.
Just in Minnesota, Carter played with 10 quarterbacks: Jim McMahon, Wade Wilson, Sean Salisbury, Rich Gannon, Warren Moon, Randall Cunningham, Brad Johnson, Jeff George and Daunte Culpepper.
Meanwhile Harrison played 11 of his 13 seasons with Peyton Manning.

I maybe old school but I think Steve Largent deserves some credit. I’m not sure if he belongs there or not, but He was the best before Rice came along. Also, he has the highest receiving yards/catch than any of these five players...yes, even Randy Moss. And that’s pretty amazing since WRs back then didn’t have rules in their favor vs WRs today.

Where does megatron fall? He doesn’t have the stats because he retired so young but when he was playing he was on another level

I’d just like to point out the stat that Fitzgerald has 29 career drops and 37 career tackles. Think about that

Not quite in my opinion although he’s in my top 5 favorite receivers and maybe football players of all time.

I agree with you about Calvin Johnson, I respect the hell out of longevity, but when I consider “the greatest players of all time.” I put way more stock into how great they were when they were at their very best, even if it was for a short time. In Calvin’s case it wasn’t necessarily short, but he did hang it up early. But dude was an unstoppable force

Don Hutson is the greatest, most dominant football player of all time. His numbers look pedestrian now. But at the time, he was doubling and tripling up his contemporaries numbers. He was revolutionary. No one else is going to come close to what he accomplished..

He’s not even a top 5 WR from the last 25 years. Moss, T.O, and Marvin Harrison were all better. So is Julio Jones and that idiot WR who got frostbite last August. Also, Calvin Johnson has made two more All-Pro first-teams than Fitzgerald has in his career despite playing eight fewer seasons. Calvin was a better receiver as well.

Completely agree. I forgot about CC. And I'd say Tim Brown is border line too of swapping with Harrison.

Yeah, he could be one to make a push. ALSO, Don Hutson. He has to be Top 5. Dominant.
