re: Was Minnesota a fluke last season?

Not really, no. They took big steps back personnel wise, in a number of key areas-- and Michigan still gets better players to plug their gaps, than Minnesota does to plug its gaps.
Throw in special teams woes and turnovers, and there's nothing the least bit shocking about tonight's result.

Did you watch both games? Iowa survived that game. The WI game was close until about 10 minutes left. Hardly getting "hammered"...unlike this bullshite. Sid and Coach Wacker and rolling over in their graves.
Lol. Did you? Wisconsin smacked Minnesota the last 30 minutes. Being in the stadium myself, nothing better than watching Minnesota roll over after Kendric Pryor took a jet sweep in.

PJ Flecks career is a fluke.

He lost to the “worst coach in college football” according to a thread I saw last week

If "that clown" was announced as LSU's next head coach, I'd be estactic.
No idea what you guys have against the guy on this board. He's a damn good coach, IMO.

Yeah this thread is pretty dumb. Last year is pretty much what you can expect as being the ceiling at fricking Minnesota, and he reached it.

He's a good coach, but not all good coaches can handle major programs. MAC coaches du jour typically underwhelm when they take a step up, too.
I think if he sticks around at Minnesota, he could be a Ferentz or Dantonio type, but I wouldn't want him near LSU. He'd wilt like Herman at Texas IMO.

A fluke in what sense? You expect them to make the championship game every year? The norm is going bto be for them to be average with a good season every once in a while, even with Fleck
You are absolutely correct.

I wouldn’t say “fluke” necessarily but Minnesota will never be a perennial Top10 team regardless who their HC is. I just don’t think it’s possible.
Fleck is obviously a good/decent coach, but I think it remains to be seen if he can win regularly at a big-time job. How this year and the next 1-2 seasons go at Minnesota will determine if he ever gets the big-time job opportunity or not. If he can keep Minnesota at 8-9+ wins the next few seasons he’ll get his shot at a big boy job.

PJ Flecks’ predecessor won 9 games in his only full season and they fired him.

Sure, but that had nothing to do with on-field results.

He was also a piece of shite.

Why?
I’m not very familiar with him, know he had issues with the administration after they suspended a group of black players who were falsely accused of rape. The team considered boycotting the bowl game and he supported the team.

PJ Fleck is that tool that said 100% his players were all favor of not playing a few months ago when he was playing cuck for the Big Ten administrators when all the other coaches with balls were pushing trying to get the season going again.
