Good on y'all for not backing down to the mob. If the donor of the flag was harassed by them into rescinding his donation, shame on those ignorant bastards for doing that to him. Y'all's food is great btw.

I think it’s a pity that donor decided to request the removal of the flag but I respect your compliance.
I do think the donor is going to be very disappointed because they’ll soon discover that the WW2 museum rarely rotates new items into their display despite an enormous wealth of new donations. I know this firsthand after having donated a bunch of my Father-in-Law’s memorabilia to them only to discover it has been relegated to permanent storage and they won’t return it. I understand museums can’t display everything but they should be open and honest about what they plan on doing with it when it’s offered to them.

This had become a nation of WIMPS. If someone gets offended , take it down. Thanks to all the pricks trying to forget history and erase all traces of it. You Stupid F'n Morons.

We appreciate the support we've received on this thread. But, before you start insulting people you don't even know you should get the facts. I'd be glad to give any TD guys a tour of our place. And if you are so inclined, you can insult us to our face.

Well, the post I responded to didn't have that information at the time and the post said that it was taken down without mention of the owners requesting it. I still stand by the statement I made when it was portrayed as the restaurant taking it down. Obviously it's out of the hands of the restaurant so that changes things.
Regardless, the outrage mob wins again and it won't be long until museums are cleansed of any non pc items.

Well that's some bullshite. Why not?

Yeah I didn’t consider that, I’m talking about how it’s de facto on display, I don’t know seems like someone could keep it put up in a drawer or something and it serves the same purpose but to each his own. Some nut ball devoid of logic lefty is going to think it’s okay to fire bomb that place.

I'm completely clueless when it comes to flags. When are they just pieces of cloth not to get worked up about and when are they symbols?

The gumbo in the picture looks good. Someone mentioned onion rings.. Are they the smaller stringy onion rings?
Cafe's/family owned restaurants seem to be the only places that have the stringy onion rings and I will make a special trip for some good gumbo with stringy onion rings.

Across and down from the marina at Big Bridge. Guy is/was crazy. Would come down screaming at people if your boat got too close.

Actually in this instance with the Southside flag it doesn’t even matter as the museum is no longer accepting Nazi flags: WW2 museum donation FAQ
When I donated my FiL’s items their policy was less clear. I’d imagine they’ve been forced to fine tune it over the years. Their original view was that a donation could at their discretion be kept or sold to realize cash to help needed areas of the museum.

I said it way back on page 2 I think, but exactly how much effort did it take for this offended jackass to take that original photo from the parking lot while simultaneously not getting any of the other memorabilia on the walls in the shot? One look at the restaurant from instead indicates that they probably spent ten minutes attempting to line up the photo so as to disguise the fact that there was a ton of other things in there which gave context to the display.
