Exactly... And who's questioning it?
Obviously not many because anytime I go I try to go during non-peak hours because I know it will be packed otherwise. The place is ALWAYS packed.
This "Karen" is quite possibly the first person who's ever made an issue about anything there.

A screenshot of it has been posted in this thread a couple times. I looked on Facebook for her original post as well but couldn't find it. I believe the post was made by her husband and he tagged her in it.

This guy is no Nazi - it’s memorabilia.

The "theme" of this place is American Patriotism. If that's cheesy to you, then please stay the frick out.

Have eaten there since 2004. Never got the impression that it was an artificial, planned "theme" restaurant. Rather, I think the owner just decided to remember those who were killed in action and it's grown over time.
There's nothing cheesy or artificial about the place.

Well. I was right about one thing. The karen that reported it supports Karpernick kneeling before the US Flag...

People that think the simple presence of a swastika means Nazi shite are morons.
So, are you a moron?
No but I’m cool with morons spending money at my business and also not having to explain that to my Jewish customers
Some things just go better in a museum or your private military collection man cave.
Again, I understand the display, my commentary isn’t that my feelings are hurt, it’s that he left his business vulnerable in a pretty obvious way.
So here we are in a thread about someone dragging his business online because of it and my acknowledgment that he left himself open to that makes me dumb?

Context is everything sometimes. The man did not ‘leave himself open’ He’s not a Nazi sympathizer so what’s the fricking problem? The PROBLEM is people 1). Not minding their fricking business and 2). Worrying too much about WHAT OTHER people think.

How many Jews go to McDonald's?

Social media really pisses me off. The Southside folks are probably the most patriotic folks Ever. I’ve known them for 30 years and would stand on the last hill with them defending this country.
Karen can kiss my Klondike arse. REAL men are proud of history.

The people that posted this took special care to make it look like this was a focal point. They are your typical dims looking to be offended and manufacturing racism. They did this on purpose.
I understand this because the board has informed me. But I am just looking at it as if I am just some random person who sees that picture with no context.
This is part of the problem with social media. Social media has taken away the truth. Truth has really become the perception.
But I am speaking from this fricked up world of how people see things. But it seems like the cafe does good business and stays busy so fortunately for him, he has established himself well enough that his customers know the truth and he doesn't have to give a single frick about how someone passing by will perceive whatever they see.

I posted earlier that the food looks good as hell. What would you recommend to someone who has never been there?

The swastika symbol, ? (right-facing or clockwise) or ? (left-facing or counterclockwise), is an ancient religious icon in the cultures of Eurasia. The left-facing version may also be referred to as sauwastika. It is used as a symbol of divinity and spirituality in Indian religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. In the Western world, it was a symbol of auspiciousness and good luck until the 1930s when the right-facing tilted form became a feature of Nazi symbolism as an emblem of the Aryan race. As a result of World War II and the Holocaust, many people in the West still strongly associate it with Nazism and antisemitism. The swastika continues to be used as a symbol of good luck and prosperity in Hindu and Buddhist countries such as Nepal, India, Mongolia, China and Japan. It is also commonly used in Hindu marriage ceremonies.
Plus, at least the guy didn't do it with poop.

So he did something.
And someone used what he did against him (Even if you think unfairly- I’m not saying they were right)
But what he did somehow did not leave him exposed to the possibility that someone could use his choice against him?

So do you think this publicity (and military and patriotic display) will hurt or help his business?

Just an FYI for those that didn't know... The Swastika was used in the USA from 1900 - 1933 as an advertising gimmick. With these tokens... There are token for Salt,, Tailors, Whisky, Hat makers, shoe makers etc.. Even Harley Davidson.
