What area? File a police report and call your insurance. I'm sure they won't just write you a check immediately but will probably put you in a rental for some time.

I would imagine there isn't an across the board answer to any of your questions. You could just call your insurance company though

A lot depends on your insurance. In Arkansas I believe theres a 30 day recovery window before you get it paid in full. I know a friend had one stolen and recovered. It had been wrecked. insurance paid to fix it and told him to deal with it.
