It’s free if course if you use your white privilege.

It's comically expensive, irrespective of whether you can afford it.

There is no social memberships at Baton Rouge Country Club. There JR membership levels, and then you have to buy stock. Stock goes for around 50K not including dues and other fees. All membership levels are for everything.
If you aren't a big golfer go for Bocage.

Funny story, particularly on today. My grandfather was denied membership to BRCC because he was Italian.

I know a story of a prominent Baton Rouge attorney who was Italian and was also denied membership. Years later, he was invited to a Christmas party at BRCC. He brought along a large head of garlic and he dropped garlic pods everywhere he went inside the club. Ruffled a few feathers of the members.

Totally off topic and subtle brag....
I got to play at the Dye Preserve in Jupiter a few times. It’s Rory’s home course.
$250,000 buy in and $90k each year afterwards is what I was told by the member who invited me.
Ouch!

Most on the ot are above social memberships at a place like that
Why would I want to be at a place trashy enough to let me be there?

It wasn't very subtle.

You do realize you have to murder someone ON VIDEO to get full membership status, right?

Why would you want to be a member of a club that would have you as a member?

I don't recall the pricing structure. I don't think there's a "social membership". There are tennis memberships and golf memberships. The golfing version is a a lot more expensive. Tennis members can't play golf -- golf members have full access to everything.
Yes, you do have be sponsored by members (but I'm not sure how many). Not sure what up-front cost is for membership but monthly fees will run about $400 for tennis level (more if you buy a golf membership), plus any meals or beverages bought at the clubhouse.
Club is closed on Mondays - call tomorrow and ask about membership levels & costs.

One of my weekly lunch spots after I realized this a few years ago.

I'm a member of a country club. Country music is what I love.

It is a closely held secret. You must present yourself and your financial resource package in person to the club pro who will report your interview to the membership committee, who will determine the proper fees.
Good luck. I'm not sure I'd wear Seersucker to the interview. Maybe a nice pair of slacks, shirt, tie and a sensible blue sport coat. Shine your shoes,
