Wilson Alexander has some updates on Twitter (my own comments in parentheses):

Everyone but Storz & Hampton (football) and Travinksi (injury) are available.

Drost will focus on hitting at first but is being considered a two way player.

(an old update said Hellmers will also be looked at as a two way player, no mention of that right now)

Milazzo had arm surgery in the offseason (not mentioned in this update, but Milazzo is now draft eligible due to the draft moving back a few weeks)

Jaden Hill is the penciled in Friday night guy (also a top 5 draft prospect according to most pubs)

Cranford penciled in at SS but will compete with Arnold, Thompson, and Safford. 2 of those 4 will be the left side of the infield.

Other news that will affect LSU players:

MLB just announced a new MLB-sponsored summer collegiate league for underclassmen that will replace the old short season Appalachian League.

It will be invite only, for rising sophomores and freshmen. It's a joint venture with USA Baseball.

I have to think this will adversely impact the Cape Cod League.

The timing of the draft will also mean that more draft eligible players will see time in collegiate summer leagues in an effort to boost their draft profile.

MLB Press Release

ETA: MLB has essentially begun a hostile takeover of the Minor Leagues in order to exert more control over they way they operate. This is an extension of their PDP program that was in place to take away some of the influence of Perfect Game and Prep Baseball Report. This is a direct shot at the Cape Cod league in my opinion and another instance of MLB trying to control everything baseball related.

I don't think I'm a fan of this.

I was thinking more of an electrician look. They have been out there the last two fall sessions.

When has LSU ever developed a two way player

I guess they will let scouts come to some fall scrimmages or with uncertainty of virus these players want exposure

You don’t remember Bain absolutely raking and being the closer a couple seasons ago?

Labas looks like he subscribed to the Mass=Gas philosophy.

Honestly, that was more like a happy accident. Don't think CPM ever really intended to make him a two-way player.

He had two OF Assists (one to home, one to 3rd) in Summer League action. RF is a good spot for him.

Gio hit one too. He was one of the best hitters at the end of last season. Started off the summer well too.

Just saw that.

Man I hope the light has come on at the plate for him.

Gio always seemed to have the talent. It was his approach at the plate that I questioned. He has had time to figure that out and should have a good year.
