Gayle King calls out Pelosi for calling Trump supporters 'henchmen': 'Egregious language'

"Tuesday is a big debate," King said to Pelosi. "Tuesday, the debate between the two of them. You earlier suggested that you didn’t think Biden should debate. Do you still feel that way?"
“The president has no fidelity to fact or truth, and actually in his comments the last few days, no fidelity to the Constitution," Pelosi said, referring to Trump's remarks earlier this week about a peaceful transition of power.
"He and his henchmen are a danger with their comments — are a danger to our democracy. Why bother? He isn't committed to the Constitution," Pelosi said.
"But Speaker Pelosi, here's the problem. Your language, to some, is just as egregious as what they're saying, by calling the president's people 'henchmen,'" King shot back. "Some could say that's just as insulting as what he's saying about you."

You completely miss the point and double down on stupidity!

Upon first thought I also credited King for speaking out.
I think it is more of someone stepping in because Pelosi's rhetoric outright does what Hillary did peg Trump supporters as deplorables.

Indeed.
They can’t hope to run the same campaign and have a different result.
Democratic strategy should be.
A. Find the things that made Trump pissed and fire off tweets that make him look foolish.
B. Point at Trumps shortcomings in his term. You guys will want examples. I’d give we are still fighting in the ME. While relations with NK and Russia are no better.
C. Mobilize the democratic base. Trump has his 30-35% of the voters that arent going anywhere. You can hope to chip at them. Suburban housewives being the example most cited. But you have to go in knowing you have to match that base and exceed it.
D. Debates. Biden needs and should have some writers who can write for laughs as well. These people need to give Biden enough practiced zingers to fill a debate. Debates have become all about gotcha and sound bites anyway. If you push Trump to getting ugly, Biden needs to get ugly. Orange skin and golden showers ugly.

“Do you want to be proper or do you want to win” frankly sums up the whole Dem campaign since Covid, except they have overplayed their hand every step of the way.
