He will be committing October first and will decide between LSU, Clemson, and Texas.

What's the scuttlebutt say? Texas is on a roll right now but have mainly heard LSU/Clemson.

No idea where he is leaning, but I like this kid. I think he is underrated by the services.

Would like to see him fill the last safety spot.

My thoughts as well. Just haven't seen anyone definitively talk about where he's leaning. May have to venture to Clemson and Texas boards to see what they say.

We don't have a spot for him.

Can see that. Don't think it would matter as Clemson seems to have won either way. Those last 7-8 spots are gonna be interesting to watch play out.

So we basically prefer Gee over Mukuba if you want to get down to the Safety position and guys that both Clemson and LSU are after

According to rankings, Mukuba is a little bit better of a prospect. Suppose we trust Bill Busch on this one.

Different types of S but it appears so. Guessing Ryan is the last DB/S unless we miss elsewhere.

Or Gee took the offer instantly and that was preferred to waiting for Mukuba and ending up with neither.

If everything goes in the best case scenario and we get the three main LA guys, two O-linemen, and Foreman, and no one decommits, then there will be one spot left for Gilbert, Trigg, a second RB, or someone else.

Realistically, we will not land all of our top 6 targets and lose no committed players because that is damn near unprecedented for any school, so we could get another DB.

Don't forget, we are still high on Derrick Davis as well at Safety.

We are but he's a SS as well with liabilities in coverage. A Jacoby Stevens type. There's a place for that but we need a FS unless that's where they see Ryan. Also gonna be a tough pull without a visit. Have a feeling Gilbert is the guy if there's a spot.

Yep, it seems as though both LSU and Clemson view Gee as the better player

Very different safeties. Mukuba is a classic free safety type. I see Gee as more of a SS that is better near the LOS than in coverage. Similar to Delpit in that regard.

I think it's looking that way.
Gilbert is fine with me.
They shot for the big out of state fish and it didn't seem to pan out.

After looking at the depth chart for next year, I will be very surprised if LSU doesn't take 3 safeties in this class even with 2 already committed for '22.
