fter looking at the depth chart for next year, I will be very surprised if LSU doesn't take 3 safeties in this class even with 2 already committed for '22.
I have been worried about this a while. The Tigers could be down to 2 safeties returning next year, or 3 if Harris returns. Even with 3 safeties in this class, there will only be 5 or 6 safeties on the roster.
The CB face some similar issues the next year. I firmly believe you should sign 4 db a year to avoid these issues. Of course, attrition undercuts your signings so some times you have to play catchup.

Unless he is just worried about further injury, then I’m not sure how/why Harris would leave otherwise. He could make himself some money by staying and playing.

it all depends upon how well he plays this year. When is the last time a multi-year starter at DB for LSU was not draftable? This is a guy the coaches were very high on at the beginning of last year, so the question is how his injury heals.

Are you claiming Harris to be a “multi-year starter at DB for LSU”???
2018 = 1 start
2019 = 1 start (followed by injury)
I guess if you really want to get technical you could say that. But he hasn’t had enough time on the field unless he turns into Jamal, Delpit, or Honey Badger really soon. I would think he could make some money coming back to LSU for another year.

As of now, Todd Harris ain’t getting drafted. He need to put some reps on tape.
Delpit won the Thorpe award as a junior after an elite sophomore season and didn’t even get picked til the middle of the second round.

Todd Harris won't be drafted. IMO, he isn't even a starting caliber SEC safety.

CB to Clemson from Mike Roach

I don't think too many people considered LSU a real player for AM. It has pretty much been a Clemson vs Texas battle from the beginning IMO.

Yeah seems to be going to Clemson
Lsu needs a free safety and another corner

Probably all for show but you never know.

Definitely misdirection, he wouldn't call attention to it if he wasn't going to Clemson and building hype

He committed to Clemson tonight.

I need to make an effort to go see him play this year. LBJ HS is pretty close to my office and Austin area doesn't produce much top tier FCS talent outside Lake Travis HS
