Definitely curious to see what both sides talking points are. Purely speculating as an arm chair observer, there’s no way he could get a nomination through. This leaves trump with two choices...try and blame the dems or don’t try and possibly take a nobler “I already nominated one, let me set a precedent”.
End of the day, this election just became a Supreme Court nominee battle. Doesn’t matter his decision.
If we don’t elect Joe, trump gets another SC justice and [insert how future generations of children will die all across the world]. I don’t like it, this does not favor trump and it gives them a clear path forward on how to rally a divided base.
I’m open to some positive outcomes, awaiting talking points to digest the validity...but not optimistic.

but genuinely curious: how many of you think the country should wait to appoint as we did with the last election?
this is different
this election might go to SCOTUS, can't have 4-4 in that scenario, too risky

quote:my favorite are the people saying that abortion is "women's rights" no it's about the right of the unborn, and racist dems who only put abortion clinics in minority communities
People actually think it is the end of democracy.

So many people saying heaven welcomes an angel today.
I’m 100% sure the Lord doesn’t reward those who advocate for the murder of children

Considering the actions of the last administration and current elected Democrats against the current POTUS, Democrats can frick off in my opinion. I would appoint one next week.

I believe in fighting as dirty as the Democrats. I’ve long complained about republicans bringing white gloves to a knife fight. I say frick the democrats, nominate and ram Ginsburg’s replacement through and make them fricking choke on it. Expel any republican that fails to follow through after they are leveraged to max.
But the republicans won’t do it.

The country is irreconcilably divided and dug in.
Traditional gentlemen's handshakes and unwritten rules of protocol are and have been out the window. All is fair in love & war, and this is a political war.
Waiting for the sake of the appearance of fairness would be a massive blunder for the GOP who has a concrete powerplay in hand.

McConnell's rationale for that was that with an outgoing president of one party and a Senate controlled by the other party, the confirmation of a Supreme Court judge should wait when this close to an election, so the American people should have a say.
We do not have that situation now.

Yea. I absolutely think we should laugh at them.

Had democrats demonstrated any sort of decorum over the last 4 years I would be in total agreement.
But now? Naaahhhhhhh
This. I tried that at one time. It's not going to work on these people.

Normally, I would have been fine with delaying a nomination. After the BS your party has pulled the last 4 years, I hope we ram one down y'all's throat and and then have special pens made up like Pelosi's impeachment pens.

I meant that liberals are despised, and I'm a liberal. I do not care at all if people don't know who I am.

that's what we have to do by speaking out for the unborn who can't speak, at least thats my thoughts anyway
