So I tune in to ESPNU in mornings on my ride to work. Danny and Greg chatting about the Baker Burrow game last night....

Greg says he is on a text chain with some buddies and he just doesn’t see the athletic ability for Burrow to be top tier. Says he doesn’t have the arm strength of Aaron or Pat!!!

1) nothing pisses me off more than unathletic guys talking about athletic guys

2) Burrow Is athletic

3) you don’t have to have a cannon if you diagnose and are accurate

So this morning frick You Greg McElroy.

Brady, Peyton, and Brees don't have "cannons" either yet they are the top-3 QB's of all time

Montana wasn't known for his arm either

Accuracy, preparation, and focus under pressure are the attributes of GOATs

Burrow is everything McElroy wishes he were. He couldn’t even successfully make it as a back up or 3rd stringer.

Pretty much everyone worth a shite in the media have said that Burrow is going to be an absolute stud. He made some big time throws last night. I'm gonna need G-Mac to sit this one out

No shite. Very few do.

I don't see where they are getting the "not athletic" enough bit. There were 5-10 times last night where Burrow either threw dimes on the run or escaped from a pocket that was collapsing 1.5 seconds after he snapped the ball.

Burrow, Higgins, Boyd, and Mixon need to be retained on that offense. Maybe Uzomah and Williams as well. Everyone else can go, and yes that includes Green.

Burrow has targeted Green 22 times in the 2 games… Green has only managed to catch 8 of those 22 balls. McElroy wishes he could hold Joe’s jock strap.

Burrow completed more passes last night (37) than McElroy attempted in his entire career (32).

I'm sure that Joe is not really worried about what some commentator has to say.

Brady looks like a giraffe with a broken leg when he runs, yet he turned out okay

He makes a good point.

I mean that's why Jamarcus is an all time great. Because he can throw it to the moon.

JB is more athletic than Rodgers...doesn't mean he will have the same career. McElroy is an idiot

McElroy is an idiot. I watched last night and what impressed me was that Burrow actually looks stronger. His throws have more velocity than when he was at LSU. It's clear he's got more muscle.

The other thing is that he made a lot of off schedule throws and tight window throws. He rarely had time in the pocket or time to go through progressions. He also didn't have many instances where his receivers got separation. Burrow also put some throws where the WR should have made a play and they didn't (there were some really good catches too). Green is a shadow of himself. I know he's gimpy, but he couldn't run, jump or pull in tough catches.

What a dumb take from McElroy. He’s probably already in the top 10 starting mobile QB’s in the NFL and has plenty of zip even though he’s throwing on the run and off his back foot a lot.

Seriously, this take has no merit whatsoever
