I don't think he'd do well in politics. He's just not very likable.
Possibly the least likeable guy in the country is POTUS right now.
And this board is mindlessly tribal, so I'm sure someone is going to attempt to wear out the downvote button on this post, but it's true.
People think Trump is funny and they like how he trolls the other side—and I hope like hell he wins again so that we can stave off the circling of the socialist drain for four more years—but he's not likeable personally.
EDIT: For that matter, nether is Joe Biden. Neither is Hillary Clinton. Neither was John McCain. Neither is Obama.
That trait doesn't seem to matter at all, actually, in the context of the POTUS.

i was a debater and i can handle ben at 2x speed. freaking rapid fire debate is a pox on communication though.

No. He doesn't have what it takes. It's much easier to sit on the sidelines and bitch about things than to actually roll up your sleeves and fix things.

Smart people dont win elections.
Look at Ted Cruz, one of the most brilliant political and constitutional minds of this generation, and most of this board says he's "unelectable".
Trumps speaks at a 3rd grade level (on purpose, if you watch videos from his pre political days he didn't do that) because he knows the common voter in the US comprehends at a 3rd grade level.
Shapiro wouldn't stand a chance in this environment.

That dude talks so fast that he is hard to listen to for an extended period of time. He is very intelligent though.
He's like 1 of 2 podcasts that I don't run at 1 1/2X or 2X speed.

I must have imagined it but I swear I saw or heard that he was leaving TDW in the last week or two

All of them are moving their podcast off of the Daily Wire youtube to their own youtube. Not sure the strategy but they are all doing it. I don't think any of them are leaving.

I noticed that too listening to Shapiro yesterday. I wonder what the reasoning is.

Trump is polarizing. He's incredibly likable to conservatives. If he wasn't likable then how does he have massive rallies that fill arenas?
The problem with Shapiro, is he isn't very likable to everyone, no matter what side. That doesn't mean he is dumb or doesn't have good things to say. He's just got traits that turn people away, and some of those traits, like his voice, can't be changed.

To avoid having the entire daily wire crew banned from YouTube.
If they're all on the daily wire channel then one video can get the entire podcast crew banned because they're consolidated on one channel. If they're on separate channels they can avoid that.

Hes not a big fan of trump though, I believe?

Well, he has been saying for a while he will be voting for him and I'd even say he is actively encouraging others to vote for him as well. He praises Trump heavily for most of what he does and gives him a hard time about what he says. That is a pretty logical position to me.

I have no problem understanding him. I have a big problem with slow talkers. I feel like making a sammich between the subject and the direct object.
It's not that I don't understand him even though he talks fast, it's that I find the sound/tone of his voice and the speed at which he talks difficult to listen to for a long time.

Trump is simultaneously the least liked and the most liked man in the world.
Both are true. And Shapiro's charisma and likeability is being severely underrated by this board. He's very personable and funny. He uses self-deprecating humour incredibly well.

I still hold out hope for Mike Rowe running for office. I think a Rowe, Trey Gowdy ticket would be awesome.

He is probably making far more money right now than a politician
Posted on 9/16/20 at 5:22 pm to civiltiger07
I've heard people call up to his show asking him if he would run for office. He response was that he feels like he can be more effective doing what he is doing now than he could be if he were in Washington.

Zero
He earns way too much legally to give that up and join the immoral area of politics

Nashville has a sizable Jewish population. Belle Meade is practically nothing but Jewish. Shapiro financially will definitely be better off in Nashville. Democrats control Nashville, the Davidson, Williamson, Wilson, Sumter, and Rutherford County suburbs are a different story completely.
