You sure about that? The Jedi purge happened 30 years before The Mandalorian takes place. At the time of the Battle of Yavin, there were 6 known force users outside the Empire:

Obi-Wan Kenobi - dead
Yoda - in exile
Kanan Jarrus - dead
Ahsoka Tano - presumed dead
Ezra Bridger - missing
Darth Maul - dead

The rest were thought dead in the Jedi Purge of Order 66.

After Endor, the only known Jedi was Luke Skywalker.

Ahsoka comes into play because she is a friend of Bo Katan Kryze.

It's Sasha Banks I believe. It's rumored she's playing Sabine Wren.

It's hard to tell....I could go either way

BUT getting Sabine Wren and Ashoka in the same season lordy...that pretty much guarantees that they are looking for Ezra in this timeline....which could lead to multiple more seasons and story lines for the Mandalorian.

Imagine getting a payoff on the Child in S2 but with Mando and the Child (assuming he/she will have a name at this point) joining Ashoka and Sabine to find Ezra....then the payoff to S3 (maybe at the start of S4) is the finding of Bridger...and then we are off to the races on Ashoka, Bridger, Sabine, and Mando basially starting up (or at least heavily influencing) what becomes the Resistance in TFA.

It is possible they leave the Mandalorian series behind and spin another series to go over these story lines....or have Mando and the Child drop out of it completely and just keep doing other new stuff with The Mandalorian...either way I like the potential direction.

Its amazing how Disney could screw up the movie trilogy so badly but completely hit a streaming series out of the park

The YouTube nerd guys like Nerdrotic and CriticalDrinker don't seem to like this show. I'm not sure why that is, but they all seem to agree that they hate it during their various simulcasts.

With rare exceptions they hate everything. It is how they get their views. Every now and then they will grudgingly admit they tolerated something. If they thought it would increase their viewership numbers they'd talk about how much they hate having oral sex performed on them.

I don't see how the endgame for this series isn't Ahsoka trying to train baby yods, realizing she isn't capable, then after they find Ezra, she and Mando take both of them to Luke.

Who knows as it was what 9 years since Han Solo said:

and almost 30 years since Order 66.

I think it is pretty clear that Asohka, at some point, kind of turned herself off from other force users during her time between TCW and Rebels....obviously she did that for self preservation.

It is unkown how much she intertwined herself back into that "world" during her and Sabine's early days of the search for Ezra.

In my mind it is feasible that Yoda and Obi-wan basically thought she was dead and couldn't sense her in the force. With that said it is no mystery why Luke wouldn't know about her.

I think it is Bo Katan played by Katee Sackhoff. Remember she is/was the leader of the Mandalorians and Sabine gave her the dark sabre which she no longer has.
its sasha banks in the trailer. Rumor she is playing sabine

You'd have to close the plot hole of why in the hell didn't Luke and Rey ask them for help in TLJ and TROS.....I can't imagine they would kill off Ashoka, Ezra, Mando, and the Child...but maybe.

Watching the trailer again I think the voice is Bo Katan. In the Rebels series Sabine gave her the dark saber to unite the Mandalorians and last season we saw she has lost it and now Moff Gideon has it in the last episode.

I think the image of the one watching him in the cloak is Sabine though.

So what? There would still be countless people/beings on countless worlds who were alive back then, as evidenced by the fact that Ahsoka and others are alive.

That's like saying people wouldn't remember shite from the 70's or 80's. shite, the Knights Templar vanished 7 centuries ago but we still remember them.

I know she is playing Sabine but Bo Katan is in the season as well and makes sense as the former leader(maybe still is) that she is providing him guidance.

Luke exiled himself, and who says Leia didn't? Some of them could have been killed when Kylo burned down Luke's temple.

Or they are planning to ignore the sequel trilogy entirely. Make it another "legend".

One can only hope. Imagine the emotional payoff of Ahsoka delivering a young force user to Anakin's son.

They pretty much have to write it that way because of the dialog of both Han Solo, and then Admiral Motti, in Star Wars indicating that the ways of the Force and the Jedi are long forgotten at this point in the storyline. No it doesn't make much sense (especially considering the Emperor himself is a force user) but that's how George wrote it.
