100% agree. The issue is just that Lucas fricked up things that were set in motion in Star Wars throughout his tenure and it's tough to force fit.
The biggest mistake Lucas made in all of canon (EP1) was the removal of the religious overtones from the Force (ie: midichlorians), by making the "Force" biological, rather than the belief in a holy (or unholy) omnipotent power from which one ability to wield the Force is projected.
Rouge One walked that back IMO.
For the Mandalorian story line - I prefer to believe the specie of "yoda" is the Force's "chosen people", which is why baby yoda has the capability to use the Force even though it hasn't been to Force-church yet.

Easy fix. Disney can pay a stunt-double to wear a suit of armor, find a voice-over and come out way ahead on budget.
Granted, the Mandalorian can never remove his helmet again, but he wasn't supposed to anyway.

New ‘Star Wars’ rumor suggests the Mandalorian is leaving ‘The Mandalorian’
quote:quote:
Grace Randolph — who has reported on “Star Wars” rumors before — said Pascal left production halfway through because he “had numerous disagreements with the creative team and went to the studio behind their backs to plead his case, which allegedly resulted in the former ‘Game of Thrones’ star being given his marching orders,” according to We Got This Covered.
On the one hand, he is about the most anonymous a lead actor as you could imagine- the character has a helmet fully covering his face, my understanding is that a lot of scenes are "stunt doubles" anyway. The helmet has been off ONCE. And it's not supposed to come off anyway.
His voice, I can listen to scenes from the Mandalorian and immediately listen to him in GoT right after, and I can not tell you it's the same guy. It sounds like someone doing an impression of Clint Eastwood from the Man With No Name stories. Quiet, soft, very minimalist.
On the other hand, you have this single show being all that remains in favor, out of the entire Star Wars property. One last pathway to keep the fanbase intact, and it's working. And it's been widely publicized that the 'creative team' has a very specific vision and plan. The studio is not going to side with someone against Favreau and Filoni, not in this case.

FWIW, several people have debunked this rumor and literally no one else has said there is any truth to it.
Keep in mind that Grace Randolph is the same person who spread a rumor that WB was going to have to reshoot a whole bunch of WW and possibly push it back just months before the movie, but it came out that her “source” was a low level production assistant who was fired pretty early in the preproduction process.
I can’t think of a single blockbuster that she had a scoop on that someone didn’t already have days, weeks, sometimes even months beforehand.
