what we're seeing is a coup against Homelander, and Stormfront pulling all the strings. She's going to use Maeve, Starlight, ATrain, and her laserproof tits to break Homelander. "Liberty"= sounds a whole lot like the actual Vaught story, changing his background to be as American as apple pie. Makes me think she's actually German, not just a Neo Nazi... she might be the first Super. You mention 70 years, I'm leaning more like 80+... she's Red Skull, the V-2, the atomic research, etc. Came over with Vaught when he swapped sides.
Starlight breaking the Compound V story likely makes her position stronger.
I don't think Stormfront is pulling Maeve's strings, or responsible for anything with A-Train, beyond agreeing he has to go. I think she's more a rival to Edgar than complicit with him, and I do think she wants to turn him against the company to support her coup and take the company for herself.
I think Black Noir is Edgar's personal killswitch. All those studies with Gecko, I think they're figuring out ways to kill the Supers (instead of tweaking the formula), and whatever they learn, it gets fed to Black Noir. Thus, the "Batman dossiers" theory... he will have the knowledge on how to take every Super down.
I think he will do just that; and we'll see him do that on a few. Maeve is Homelander's target, so it won't be her. Might be a way of silencing A-Train or The Deep.

How the frick is it a spoiler if it’s not from the comics and I haven’t seen anything beyond episode 5?
Someone on the previous page was literally thinking outloud the same thing I said, I just elaborated on it.
