Kind of a specific thing to ask as it relates to excessive force, or more specifically, emotional pain and suffering related to excessive force.
So I couldnt help myself and clicked to read...highlights:
quote:
Jacob Blake was shot seven times in the back as an officer tried to detain him this week in Wisconsin. After he regained consciousness following the encounter that left him paralyzed, he turned to his father and wept.
"Then his next question was, 'Why did they shoot me so many times?'" Jacob Blake Sr. told CNN's Alisyn Camerota on "New Day" Friday morning. "And I said, 'Baby they weren't supposed to shoot you at all.'"
But what bothered Jacob Blake Sr. the most, he said, was that his son's leg was shackled to the hospital bed.
"Why do they have that cold steel on my son's ankle?" he asked. "He can't get up, he couldn't get up if he wanted to."
and here it is, about 5 paragraphs in:
quote:
"There is no explanation for it," Blake family attorney Benjamin Crump said. "It follows the pattern of deliberate indifference and excessive force."
"My son has not been afforded the rights of a human," Jacob Blake Sr. said.

It's so bizarre.
One year it's the #MeToo movement and the next it's screaming about a domestic abuse, sexual assault, child endangering criminal being treated fairly and getting his due process

Seems to me like you, Jacob Blake Sr, did a terrible job as a father, and are to blame for all of this.

Dude was a fugitive from the law who decided he was going to ignore the law after they tried to arrest him for another disturbance he was responsible for and then decided to reach into his car despite police pleas for him not to. He's lucky his dumbass son is still alive.

All CNN could report about yesterday was that he was handcuffed to his hospital bed. Yeah that’s what happens when you are under arrest.

BS for sure. If he is paralyzed, he wouldn't be feeling any cold steel.

I wonder if someone could pick him up. Like a family member or a friend and wheel him out of there.

Boy to be in the shoes of that AG/prosecution when making the decision to try or drop the rape charges. What do the woke crowd prefer - #metoo or #blm?

Personally I’m a big fan of rooting out those issues, and also affording the accused due process
Seems like a pretty good pairing.

Crump will try and make you forget that Blake had an outstanding warrant, the police were responding to a domestic violence call with him being the subject. Then, they will try yo make you forget that he wresyled with police, disregarded a lawful request from the officers and reached into his car when implored not to.
I'm still critical of the police for losing control when they had him on the ground, however, taken in totality the police had an obligation to regain control.
Jacob Blake was not a model citizen, nor even a guy who momentarily lost it in a domestic dispute. He was a loose cannon in his community.

Didn't police taze him and he didn't stop? I feel like that could answer his question.

Try him for his charges and give him a fair resolution to this encounter too?
Hopefully the AG pursues equitable justice in both cases and not any other agendas on either.
